Using PCM traction control to retard timing.

I have a 95 z28 without traction control. The pcm still has an input for tcs and the torque management in the ignition tables.

I have read about how to wire this up, and have had people confirm it works. My question is which table to use in LT1 edit?

There is "Abuse Mode Retard" on the main ignition page, but right next to it is a button that says "Traction Control Retard" That opens a table where you can input retard levels per every 400 rpms.

I plan on running one of my relays so that it grounds the traction control enable pin/wire on the pcm whenever the system is armed. Do I just put one overall value in the abuse value or do I specify values based in the retard vs rpm table?

If in the rpm based table, wouldn't I pull more timing down low? Ie for my 150 shot I pull 7 degrees at 3k and back down to 4 degrees retard @ 6k?

Thanks, I will also give Brian a call and see what he thinks of this method.

If I were you, I'd use the retard vs RPM table.

Ressurecting an old thread here.

1) Anyone got this working properly with a Nitrous system?
(I plan on using my DynoJet Wideband Commander to engauge the nitrous relay and hopefully trigger this retard).

2) Anyone have this working on an OBDII set up?

My 1997 Helms manual Gives two PCM pin inputs, and one output (a Pulse Width Modulated, PWM, 12 volt signal indicating TPS for ECBM use). The two inputs are:
a) TCS/ASR active input (grounds the 12 volts from the PCM), which I imagine is simply a flag/indicator for the PCM/Datastream that TCS is active and pulling timing. I'm not sure if this pin "must" be grounded for timing to pull, but I can relay it to ground without issues if needed.

b) Timing Retard Request with a Pulse Width Modulated, PWM, signal (to ground the 12+ volt feed from the PCM). Is this "pulse modulated" in the sense that I need a signal generator? Or is it basicly "on" while grounded, and off when not?

Just curious if anyone's played with this in a ODBII set up?

Looking for more info on this!! what pin and color was the wire to the PCM?
