Shifter stand up when accelerating

I have a 96 6 speed.. when i accelerate.. the shifter stands up.. any idea why? normal or no? thanks

I agree. Replace it with a 1LE mount or an Energy Suspension mount. I have had the ES mount for 6 years with no problems at all.:cool:

How do i replace the transmission mount? do i have to remove the tranny? instructions please

REAL simple! ;)

Get the car up on stands or ramps, get a jack under the tranny to support it, unbolt the nut from the tranny mount (in the center of the cross member) then unbolt the cross member. Then remove the 2 bolts holding the mount to the tranny (or whatever is left of the mount ;)). Then bolt the NEW mount to the tranny, put the cross member back in place, and tighten everything up :).

Should take ~20 minutes or less, start to finish :thumb:.
