Am I the only one that likes the interior?

I have no idea why so many people are complaining about the interior photos. There are definitely hints of the '69 Camaro's interior there, but there are modern touches like the positioning of the various gauges and the cool looking cd player setup. I mean its like this if you need a "Modern" interior with all the little fluffy thrills then go with a loaded Avalon or 300M, but if you want a no nonsense car with pure performance I would go for the Camaro. One thing on the exterior, did anyone notice a camaro nose emblem or the flag on the vehicle?

the reason i dont like it is because it looks hard on the eyes. i cant imagine trying to read those gauges while driving, it looks like youd have to stare hard to read them with all the color.

that being said, i love the seats

I'm with ya ... I like it! Initially I wasn't sure about using the 1st-gen style gauge pods, but I like how they're chromed. Overall I think it looks simple, tasteful, but looks like it's got some QUALITY in it too :thumb:. One of the nice things I see is the heavy stitched seamed leather (such as the center console). The way the seat-belts are integrated into the seats is great! (as long as they feel and function well;)). As long as those 4 small gauges are easy to read, then I don't have problem with them being where they are.

Overall I like it :).

I don't know if you're the only one - but one of the few. If there were any negative comment these past 2 days, most of them had to do with the interior.

I like the pods and such also...but I have to agree that the colors on the concept are a bit blinding. A production version toned down with the gen one style gauges would really be cool IMHO.

I am not surprised at the negative comments.

Back in the day, interiors were designed rather poorly. It is only really until recently that interior design has really taken off. Back then, the interior design was given to a "b" team of designers because it was looked at as much less important and not prestigous at all. Ergonamics were very poor, space wasn't utilized, choice and use of materials was lacking, safety wasn't a priority, and so on. Things have changed and interior design is almost as important as the exterior design. You can't get away with a bad interior design anymore.

There is no way in hell the gauges on the center console will make it into production, that is just bad ergonomics. I am a little surprised why anyone would want a retro interior.

The interior is the only thing I like about the 5th gen concept. Whereas I think the sheetmetal looks like sh*t.

Ok I can agree that the guage pods may be a little difficult to read and may take your attention off the road so a more appropriate placement of certain items may be better but I still like the overall theme.

I think it is very cool looking, no doubt, but its just too retro for me in a production car. I want an interior similar to the C6 in the 5th gen

I love the interior and think the gauges are actually very easy to read, but then again I'm used to it.

I think the console gauges are the new "Heads Down Display" (HDD).

I couldn't resist.

I think the interior isn't really wrong for a concept. It needs to be different. But I would not be able to drive that car everyday in that condition.

No need to worry about the interior of the concept car. If GM stay true to form the interior will be cheap plastic (and cheap looking) low grade simulated leather. I hate to sound so negative but why not just go ahead and rip the drivers seat bolster so when someone says something about it you can reply that "hell, thats factory!" lol.

I love it, too. Reminds me of my '68 Z/28. I'm already used to glancing down to the console to check the engine's particulars.:)

I would be fine with gages down there as well since I like to glance down there every once in a while as it is to remind myself it's a 6 speed.

I know it's a stretch, but I do hope they keep the interior lighting the way it is on the concept. The two strips above the doors instead of a dome light ads alot of class

I agree about the lighting, it's pretty sweet. Been a while since I have looked at this topic, has GM made any decisions regarding interior on the final production vehicle yet?
