started at around 144000 miles. broke clutches burn out so i had it rebuild. did this 9 TIMES it would work for 3 weeks and burn the clutches. we took off the shift kit and made everything stock except corvette servo. took to a new shop. he fixes it and it works 4 months and blows a shift solinoid... no big deal. does it again. same one works 5 months. clutches go out after a year. replace clutches again and works for 9 months and dies again TODAY!!! wtf? we had it running off pressure instead of the comp to see if that is what it was. aparently not.

is it in my computer?

is it electrical?

anyone else hear of something like this?

My guess is you're not having someone build it who's knowledgeable with the 4L60E, and their overlooking something.

Check this board for someone who specializes in 4L60E's.

guy is 34 and owns the shop over 3 guys been doing it since he was 17 in his dads shop. he's done over 80 f bodies and said this has happened one other time. he also changed out the casings to make sure it wasn't warped.

this crap is frustrating

You've probably got electrical problems with your car. What I don't understand is why would you remove something that is designed to improve the pressure in the trasnmission if you think your having a electrical (pressure) problem? Having said that I'd agree with Frank maybe you've got the wrong guy. But then what your describing is a text book case for inadequate electronics. Another thing I don't understand is you said you had it running off of "pressure not the computer"...Thats confusing to me. from the sounds of it you keep doing the same thing and expecting differant results, I'd first wanna know what the pressures were, and at what throttle position they started falling off at...This would be a big help in helping you...I hope this helps ....Dave

pressure off the brake booster instead of computer electronics to tell it when to shift. kinda like a 700r4 is my understanding.

Get a GM reman and put it back like it was.
A guy down here runs mid 6's 1/8 mile and beats on his HARD with the hose and has replaced the original tranny and that's all. He used GM rebuilt and it's in the car now.
Ya can build a 350/400,glide,700 R4,ect, the 4L60E is totally different and mistakes can be made.
