Which motor are you?jg95z28 01-09-2006, 02:32 PM No names or badges here, just which motor would you choose, regardless of price? christianjax 01-09-2006, 02:33 PM I like the LS2, or the ZL7. Either would do nicely christianjax 01-09-2006, 02:33 PM I like the LS2, or the ZL7. Either would do nicely Schismblade 01-09-2006, 02:49 PM I'll be in the market for the top of the line model. Either that or a C6 Ray86IROC 01-09-2006, 03:00 PM I would like the 500ish hp model if available, but it will depend on price. I voted for the 400hp model as that is more likely by my way of thinking. I'm kinda expecting the 400ish hp model to realistically be the top model for at least the first couple years anyway... 94Camaro_Z_28 01-09-2006, 03:09 PM LS7. Top model, nothing less for me. HOTCIVIC 01-09-2006, 03:12 PM Hmm this is a tough one..... DrewSG 01-09-2006, 03:13 PM L92 305fan 01-09-2006, 03:15 PM I'd love an LS7 but unless I win the lotto.... I want a 5.3L toegead93 01-09-2006, 05:27 PM LS7 all the way, unless it is priced at some ungodly high number. If it were to stay aound mid 40's I'm in. I was thinking about picking up a 6.0L for 30K and dropping either a 427 into it or adding a turbo. So if GM offers a stock LS7 or LS9 that would easily make up my mind on which way to go. Of course I would never pay the outrageous dealer mark-ups out of principal, so I'll probably end up dropping an LS7 in myself, modded to my own needs. gmanss 01-09-2006, 05:36 PM I voted 400 hp. 500 if i could afford it. just bught a house. 500 probably equals 50000 dollars jg95z28 01-09-2006, 07:15 PM Remember I said "regardless of price". If you figure the LS2 version is priced in at the same price as the Mustang GT, the LS7 version should list for no more than another $10-15K above that... which should be well below the GT-500. What, no one wants a V6? :D graham 01-09-2006, 07:16 PM Well im an overachiever, so.... stars1010 01-09-2006, 07:18 PM Well….. I’m going to buy the mid level Camaro ***cough *** SS ***cough *** with a convertible top, pretty much fully loaded, so I’m not the LS7 guy obviously… I would like a bit more hp than the base model or 5.3L range of power, So I Would option for the LS2! meissenation 01-09-2006, 07:52 PM I can only vote once, but I voted Base V6 because I felt bad that no one else voted for it. ;) In all honesty, my dream would be to own a v6 daily driver AND a v8 version. SAM98TAM6 01-09-2006, 07:58 PM I'm hoping that by the time the car is ready for production, we will see it with the 6.2 from the Escalade, and around 420 hp or so. I don't think I'm too far off with the thought, hopefully. The business case for the LS7 just doesn't make sense, IMHO. ;) Aaron91RS 01-09-2006, 08:14 PM Well all know you can't make the vette people mad and use their precious high end engine in the lowly camaro or give it as much HP. Vette got the LT5-camaro didnt Vette got LT4-camaro got a few only to clear stock and then with less HP Vette got LS6-didn't want to piss off even other LT5 owners so it got a bit less HP Vette got LS7-GTO only then was allowed 400HP. Even then it was the LS2 not LS6 so the vette people still had a shred of bragging rights There is no way the Camaro will get an LS7. Even if it gets the HP it will probably be some other LS number. What numbers are left lol. Also by that time the vette will have gotten a boost in HP for it's top engine if not another engine. Begun the HP wars have! 97SLPcamaroSS 01-09-2006, 08:32 PM that is true above but in the old day of 69 was just as fast as the Vette. if they put some kind of real motor in the car like the LS7 i will have the first one (thanks Dad). SAM98TAM6 01-09-2006, 08:35 PM The Vette will hopefully get the 6.2 for '08, so I think a slightly detuned version for the Camaro isn't out of the realm of possibility, somewhere around 420hp or so. Hopefully. Joe K. 96 Zeee!! 01-09-2006, 08:51 PM Regardless of price?!?! Is this some kind of trick question??? Who here wouldn't pick LS7 regardless of price. Put some real world prices up there though, and I may go with a midlevel V8. HAZ-Matt 01-09-2006, 09:15 PM At least half of the people that voted LS7 are full of crap :p It is mute because I will bet that the Camaro get's neither the LS2 nor LS7 (but that admittedly depends on when they get it out). gmanss 01-09-2006, 09:31 PM Oopps! In that case 500. I currently own a V6 auto and a V8 manual Camaros. My manual V8 has better gas mileage than my V6. No need for a V6. Thats me. lock down 01-09-2006, 09:43 PM I vote for the ls7 but i don't think i will make 500 v6 250hp rs 325hp z/28 ls2 400hp ss ls7 475hp 5thGen 01-09-2006, 09:52 PM not voting because I am requesting that GM think about it seriously and offer a 300-330 hp LS engine. THis with even a 5 speed manual and a much lower cost than the 400 hp Version, should sell VERY WELL, and that's exactly what I'll be looking to buy. 305fan 01-09-2006, 10:02 PM not voting because I am requesting that GM think about it seriously and offer a 300-330 hp LS engine. But seeing as 6 speeds are now a normal part of life, its very doubtful we'd see a 5 speed anymore. | ||
