---might I suggest you stop by the Los Angeles Show?

We just unveiled a second Camaro Concept this morning at that show........it's red, it's a 'fiberglass' ...meaning that it isn't a running vehicle........but we know the importance of that market........

Stop by and tell us what you think!

Guess Ill have to go back, cause I went this past Friday on day one. The dyno exhibit, and new '07 Tahoe were cool. $8 for admission (with discount), $10 for parking, 1.5 hours travel time, and priceless to see in person!

Think this had anything to do with our exchange on the importance of an LA unveiling, and also relaying this opinion to BL many months ago?

I'd like to think my input here (http://web.camaross.com/forums/showpost.php?p=3499609&postcount=14) had something to do with this too, but since I don't really have much weight to throw around here, it's unlikely.

Anyway, I'm excited and disappointed at the same time. I just went to the show yesterday (sunday), it would have been nice to see it then. Especially since I started a thread here (http://web.camaross.com/forums/showthread.php?t=414670) specifically for this purpose and raised a question about this push car here (http://web.camaross.com/forums/showpost.php?p=3519110&postcount=27) and basically got a unanimous NO to my probing. There was a ridiculous amount of floor traffic there too. It would have been perfect to have the car there this weekend.

The new trucks got nothing but praise from everyone even those that typically sneer at domestics. I'm not into trucks or SUVs and I wanted one. Those trucks are NICE! Only thing I noticed form sitting in all three versions is that there isn't much more of an upscale feel to either GMC or Caddy compared to the Chevy. But this is more of a complement to Chevy than a knock against Caddy. :thumb:

It's at the Los Angeles Convention Center just off the Harbor Freeway.

I went to the LA autoshow yesterday, since everyone here told me here that 'NO' Camaro concept was headed towards LA (not even a roller).

Thanks guionM for the following 'enlightened' post that convinced me to go to the LA show on Sunday and not wait;) :

If it were in LA, I'd have no reason to go to Detroit!

No, it's a Detroit only gig. I tried to make the case. An e-mail I sent making the case for an LA unveiling made the rounds with a few of the big guns there after I asked the fellow running the shows.

A big gun thanked me and cc'd it to others, I guess to think about. Meanwhile, the guy running the show explained very clearly why it wasn't likely to happen.

Seems the place where Camaro would likely sell the most, and the state where all new car trends start is still sidlined as a place to show new Hybrids and Eco-friendly stuff.
.
.

It looks like I will be going to the LA autoshow again this weekend. The suffering and hardship a Camaro fan must endure........

Went there today! im putting the pics on my computer atm. Talked to Steve Kim (head designer of exterior) about it, got him to sign a poster of it. I told him it was awesome, and thanked him for the short front overhangs. haha

no.........if there is a second car available, of course it would be sent to Los Angeles.....the problem was getting it done in time.

When I go to the LA show 'again' this weekend is there anyone in particular I should ask for to let them know my opinion on the Camaro??

I love 99% of the car (the pointy front bumper needs to be softened slightly) and I just want the right person to hear it.

Glad it was done in time then. :)

Detroit was plenty of glitter and press (in other words, a complete utter madhouse), but I think Los Angeles and it's strong car culture would be far more intrested in new Camaro's and Mustangs than eco-friendly electrics and hybrids.

It's been said quite often that GM doesn't understand the California market. We have a very vocal group of treehuggers here, but that's a small minority.
California is the largest market for imports and performance cars in the US. GTO is doing extremely well here, Mustangs are all over the place, and even when Camaros were still around, I saw more new ones (though they were almost always SSs) here than anyplace else.

..... gosh... I'm sounding like I'm still trying to get the car here. :D
