White2kSS 01-09-2006, 10:32 AM We still can't buy it  ... I would of rather not have seen this unveiling then one day GM just suprise us and say... " oh btw you can all buy the New Camaro tomorrow".
Now every time I want to buy a performance part for my current Camaro i'll second guess myself cuase of this concept Possibly coming to my dealer down the street..
Great another 2 years of "talking" and not "driving" ahead of us :(
SFireGT98 01-09-2006, 10:33 AM Public reaction should push this bad boy to the front of GM's priority list. Also it is much better to know a newborn Camaro is there for the future than to play the guessing games we've been playing over the past 4 years.....
If you notice on the website, all of the vehicles below ARE in production. Hopefully we won't have to wait long.

Public reacton? you mean the magazines that love American cars so much??

I am fearing the worst

Thats because they are using the Camaro as a PR tool.

GMs gotta be smarter than that and The R&T article is screaming build it. For my piece of mind I know what direction they are going in and the image on my desktop is enough to keep me happy till I can hopefully aford one which is about when theyd probably produce it. We got the concept and the style Im happy. Go to fastlane.gmblogs.com and tell them though.
swejr96z 01-09-2006, 10:52 AM All i can say if this is not built, i will never buy another GM car. This will be my 7th camaro and have loved everyone one, this one has made me change my mind on getting a vette as my next car.

Z28CamaroPower! 01-09-2006, 01:12 PM I can't believe they would come out with this concept, and then would wait 2-3 yrs to start producing it...
jg95z28 01-09-2006, 01:15 PM I can't believe everyone is making such a big deal on the interior. Its a freaking concept car. The production version should be much more realistic.
graham 01-09-2006, 01:17 PM Maybe this will be the car that can come to life in 18-24 months.

thats what i was trying to say.. and there is not guarantee they will:cry:
1Quick88 01-09-2006, 01:24 PM I dont see why GM would come out with a concept of a camaro and then expect people to wait 2-3 years for it to come out. By then people wont have the excitment for the car by then. It will just blend in. They should have said 3 months before the car went into production that it was being produced and marketed the hell out of it for 3 months..get everyone all hiped up about it..then produce the car.
just my .02

The problem is, everything about the concept interior is bad. I absolutely would not buy a car with retro guages on the dash and other primary guages in a retarded and out of sight line place on the console.
I suspect a lot of other people are in the same boat. If the general paid any attention, IIRC the junk 1970ish pinto looking new mustang interior was one of the few styling points the car took any heat at all on. Hopefully GM is smart enough to put a nice modern guages package in this car

Wishful dreaming. It took the Solstice more than 2 years to reach production and that car was fast tracked into production.

I absolutely would not buy a car with retro guages on the dash and other primary guages in a retarded and out of sight line place on the console. It really isn't out of your line of site. That's where they are on both of my 67 Camaros, and they are there by choice, as I added aftermarket guages and did not have the optional console mounted guages which the concept is trying to mimick. I've never had any problem glancing at the guages as I'm driving down the road. I have a bigger beef with the tach and speedo being in opposite locations than where they were in 1967-68. Remove the copper colored shiny finish and I could live with the layout as presented. The seats look real comfortable imo.
