As of 1/8/05, I've seen the picture of the red Camaro and the picture of the silver Camaro. The silver picture looks so much better, because the red picture just makes the car look big, heavy, and bloated. The Camaro in the silver picture looks good. Retro, yet modern and original. It also looks like the hood scoop will actually be fully functional this time around and not just for show. So, now, I have two cars to consider buying within the next few years: a brand-new C6 or a top of the line Z28. I still like the looks of the C6 better, because it looks sleek and agile unlike the Camaro that looks muscular and heavy, but the Camaro might still be more appealing if it did get the LS2 and still somehow cost less than $30,000. What do you think looks better? Thanks in advance for the opinions.

 

C6 is the hands down winner. It's not even a comparison.

How can somebody answer this when comparing a current production vehicle and what could be just a concept?

 

I think it's obvious that the car we are seeing pics of is the final concept. So in that case I think it's completely fair to judge it as it stands...The designers have had probably at least 3 years to work on it, if not more. If this concept can't wow us, than what will? Now, if it were an early clay model, it would be unfair to judge it, but it isn't. Honestly, what is really going to change between now and production??? Probably not much. Smaller rims, less agressive looks...Basically they will just dumb it down and bring it to the public.

 

Guess it depends what part of US, YOU are speaking about. This part of US, is plenty wowed.

 

The c6 is pure sex. Honestly a c5 z06 is even better looking then the new camaro.
Not that the new camaro is ugly. It fits in perfect with the other 3 retro's.

 

Yeah, I might have been a little too general with that statement...I should have specified that I was referring to the hardcore anti-retro guys

 

I think pricing is what's going to determine if the Camaro will be a big hit or not. It doesn't look bad now and it'll be much better if it gets the LS2 engine, but not too many people will buy it if they have to spend $35,000 to get one. The C6 with the Z51 package would cost only $13,000 more than that and, IMHO, just looks better. Therefore, a lot of people could still easily choose the C6 over the Camaro. Now, if GM can get the new Camaro with the LS2 engine under $30,000, then it will be a different story. But I think that it'll be tough, because I just saw a magazine ad for the Pontiac Grand Prix with only the 5.3L V8 selling (as shown) at a little over $29,000 with options. (In Edmunds.com, the same car retails at $28,735.) Using this as my basis, the new Camaro with an LS2 engine will probably be in the price range of $30,000-$35,000. Hopefully, I'm wrong.

 

C6 because I prefer low long and sleek to upright and retro. But out of the upright high belt line retro stuff out there, I like the Camaro better than the Challenger or the Mustang.

 

I like the C6 but I REALLY like the new Camaro.

As a matter of fact, I'm trying to recall a better looking CHEVROLET from the last 30 years and I'm coming up blank. The C5 and C6 are damn close, but I'll go so far as to say the new Camaro is the best looking CHEVY since probably the '73 Camaro.
