This is my setup so far:
Alpine HU 4x40 amp
Infinity Kappa's in the doors
The Crunch midwoofers in rear

I have a stealthbox that i built, used to have a 12 inch kicker in there. I don't have the kicker anymore so I need to get something else. I want to get something in the 100$ range, I can redo the front piece of the box to fit a 10. I am debating what to get. The box is about .7 cubic feet. Quality of sound matters a lot to me. The kicker got very loud and hit hard but it was a very undefined tone. I listen to a little bit of everything but mostly: Rock, Techno, and some rap. I hear that 10s are generally better for rock but I don't know what to pick.

What are some good recommendations subs to look at keeping in mind this is a small box and such.

I've found that the 10" Alpine Type-S is a good match for the volume inside of a Stealthbox type enclosure. IMO a 10" is the way to go when using a box that small. A 12" in a Stealthbox is just too much of a compromise IMO

12" stealth box you say. I would be very intrested in seening some plans. Maybe even just demisions. I have a 12" alpine typr R dual coil and it likes to have about that internal volume. Any help would be great.

Well, Basically i had the sub i was building to (kicker comp 12'') I just cut mdf board into small pieces and tried to use as much space as possible and still make it removable and flush. It was a lot of work and there are soo many strange angles. Then i reinforced it with screws, bodyfiller in crevices, and caulked all the leaks. Polyfill in it. The front plate was just cut to 12''. It is a tight fit but doable.
whats the difference between the type-s and type-r subs?

Its a step up in the world of alpine. Type s is like a RS where a type r is like a z-28 with type x being the SS. LOL
