Overbore Price?LesPaulGoth 01-04-2006, 12:19 AM I'm looking to rebuild my L98 in the summertime, and I just wanted to know how much you guys paid to get your engines bored over. I'm looking at something slight, like a .010 or a .030...im just doing a rebuild so I dont wanna do an .050 or an .060 because the gains are so slight its not worth it to go that far, imo. Have the block bored only as far as it needs to go to clean up the wall, that way you have room to bore it again some day if it needs it. Cheap and available pistons. That is unless you have to go 0.060 to clean it up. I understand about not overboring so you can rebuild again, but look at it. What are the odds that you will own it, and matching numbers is not that important in a camaro. Vette, or some old original one maybe... What are torque plates? respectirocz 01-04-2006, 11:12 PM What are torque plates? basically a plate with cylinder holes thats bolted down in place of the cylinder head to simulate the stresses on the block by the head bolts anthony714 01-05-2006, 07:56 AM you want it done with torque plates.it duplicates having the cylinder head bolted to the blot so the bore will be done as if the heads were and and making for a better bore and sealing | ||
