SES light...throwing code

ok i just replaced the waterpump and thermostat in my car meaning i had to take off those + coil, air intake....now i have everything back on and working properly and i hooked up my scan tool and it is giving me the code P0100 which is "mass or volume air flow circuit malfunction"...the MAF sensor is plugged in and none of the connections are bent. Can anyone point me in the right direction as far as what i need to check or replace???

sounds like you may have broke the maf

borrow one and see what happens

You posted this same question yesterday on the "Computer..." forum, and I answered it there. Your only response was to ask where the MAF sensor is. You removed the MAF sensor when you pulled the inlet air ducting off to get to the water pump.

Suggestion..... post ONCE, not multiple times. It helps you solve your problem if everyone knows what you've already been told, so they don't duplicate info you've already received.

yeah i found the MAF sensor and none of the connections seem to be bent or corroded or anything and its plugged in right...so now i have no idea why its not working...is there a plug similar to the MAF sensor plug that i may have mixed it up with...because i think i remember there being one that went on the coil or in that general area and they looked exactly the same...or maybe it is right bc if it wasnt the car wouldnt start...i duno

how was the MAF treated when it was off?(was it dropped, ect.)

nope not dropped...it was placed on towels on the side workbench that we have...its just frustrating to have it working fine and then remove it and put it back on and have it throw a code like this...if i do need to get a new MAF does anyone have any suggestions on what kind to get or how much it would cost??

Did you check the pink wire on the MAF connector for +12V with key on/engine off?

no i did not...im not so sure how to do that but i will gladly check it if you could let me know how...im sure i have w/e tool is necessary around here bc my dad has got every tool know to mankind lol...but i would really appreciate it if u could tell me how to check for +12V on the pink wire because i will definitely do that...thanks

Pull the harness connector off the MAF sensor. Turn the key "on", do not start the engine. Get your multi-meter out and set it to "DC Volts". Hold the red probe to the terminal in the connector for the pink wire. Touch the black probe to a good chassis ground. Meter should read 12V +/- a volt of two.

thank you so much for your help...i went out and tested the pink wire for 12V and its gettin between 11.89 and 12.11 so im good there and then i looked down and the theres the 3 metal prongs that the harness connector attaches to and the one for the pink wire was bent downward and to the side...so i just took a pair of pliers and straightened it up and connected the harness and no more SES light...thanks again!
