225/50-17 ok for snow tire size?
Looks like tirerack reccomends a 7" rim to go with that tire size. I pesonally also thought those tires were waay too narrow for your 9" factory rim. I think you would have trouble seating the tire, and in hard cornering or a pothole might break the seal on the bead. I dont run snow tires on my Z, but if I did, I am pretty sure there arent a whole lot of snow tires sized for even the 16" rim I have.
mounting/dismounting is very hard on the tires (and is another way to scratch the wheels), so you do not want to be swapping the tires on the rims twice a year, especially with low profile tires.
Buy a set of 16" steel wheels use those for the winter. Then you can do the seasonal switch yourself at your convenience.
