Buying Torque Converter
Buying Torque Converter
I was going to get a new torque converter with a little higher stall. I need help choosing what would be best. The car is a 89 Irocz with a L98 350 TPI. I was thinking about going with 500-600 over stock. How would that proform? Also lockup or non lockup? Also adding a shift kit (maybe stage 1 not yet sure) and a corvette servo. Is TransGo any good? If anyone can help me out please do.
Re: Buying Torque Converter
For the converter, I'd recomend calling up Edge Racing Converters and talkin to their tech support. They're eager to help and will make sure your happy with the results. They'll make you a 9.5" converter with any stall you want and any STR you want and will help you decide what settings to go with and the turn around time is pretty quick as well.

Re: Buying Torque Converter
As for the Trans-Go Performance Shift kit, use the "modified" version as this will give you smooth part throttle shifts, & firm WOT shifts. This is much better on the drivetrain, than having harsh/bang part throttle 1-2 shifts. The Edge is a good choice. I use them in front of the vast majority of my transmissions. Ask around about the "modified" Shift kit, and see for yourself the replies on how it works.
