TCS & ABS went out, how do I test the TCS switch
I thought I heard anoise coming from the rear, so I raised it off the ground started the engine and put it in gear to spin the tires, well the traction control kept activating since the wheels were off the ground, so I switched it off. I started the car up a few times and didn't have to turn off the TCS again, although I didn't think about it. Well today the next day I see it doesn't work as well as the ABS. Are the TCS and ABS linked together where they would both go out at once? Is there a way to test the switch? I'm not sure which wires to touch to test it. I hooked up my ohm meter to the 5 pins on back and wouldn't get a beep unless I held the switch in-touching the far right pin where there are 3 pins in a row, and hooked to the far left pin on the 2 pin row. With me not touching the switch (holding it in) I got nothing. The dealer wants 30 bucks for a new switch, and its not exchangable. I checked all the fuses as well, and the connectors at the tires. Is there something else I can check. This is on my 2001 TA-thanks in advance
Re: TCS & ABS went out, how do I test the TCS switch
are there lights on on the dash?
if yes, drive and see if it starts working
if it doesn't, you probably need to go somewhere and clear the codes from the ABS/TC
and yes, ABS and TC are one unit

Yeah there are lights on the dash for both. I haven't driven the car, jsut started it up in the driveway. Driving can make them work again?, how far do I have to drive before i know they will work again?
