Has anyone done or does anyone know if you can swtich out the stock dashes (the whole dashes). I want to put one like a 98 in my 94, is it possible?

I'm going to be doing this in a few weeks, I have most of the parts now. There are several decisions you need to make. Most people will say this was discussed several times on this board and it's probably in several different postings, however there are some key things I would say after going through the hassle of getting all the parts, my opinion ofcourse, YMMV>>

1) make a decision on firebird/trans-am dash or camaro dash.
2) Make a decision on the color ( I went with ebony and that limits your options to 00-02 cars and also higher prices)
3) How much are you going to replace? just the dash or entire interior? I went with entire interior so more cash
4) all the small parts like bezels, vents, power switches, etc. I went with trans am door panels and camaro dash for my camaro, so I had to get all the parts extra
5) 97 speedometer. I got one to work with my 96 wiring harness, I think I'm ok, but will soon figure out.

There's probably more but I don't know until I get into it further.

Very good post. Im in the process of doing it now. Biggest issue for me is getting the parts. How hard was it to get the 97 digi odo to work?

All you need to do is make sure you have the cluster wired up right . Since you have a 94 Camaro , I would use a wiring skematic from a 94 trans am cluster connector . If you had a 96 Camaro , I would just use the obd2 97 wiring skematic . In my 95 trans am , I used a 97 cluster . I had to do nothing . The pinouts in the cluster connector were the same for the 95 style and 97 style odo's . Both the 93-96 analog and the 97 digi odo's got the same signal from the pcm

Where can I get my hands on the wiring schematics for 94, 97, and 97 firebird?

Go to your local public library . They should have all the dealer service manuals , the GOOD books the service techs use . Its all I use when I need any type of automotive wiring info . Every circuit in the car is in there .

I heard the same. When the cars went OBD2 in 96, the same wiring harness stayed through 02, but I haven't taken the dash off to confirm. I don't know if anyone with a 96 has tried the swap yet. Most of the posts I've come across are 94/95 cars.
