I installed a Pioneer Premier P8-MP cd player, which worked perfectly in my last car with an LED dash kit from humount.com and am having some problems with it. The LED's from the dash kit don't light up correctly all the way across, and I'm having some problems with the CD player part of my deck. I think it's a bad ground, I have it all running through the factory harness ground because I couldn't find anything else metal to ground it to. Any suggestions on where to ground the deck? I know there has to be some place to ground it, if not I can always run soem longer wire but I wanted to avoid that. Normally I'd just find somewhere to ground it but everything's plastic in there and it's cold as balls out!
Thanks

maybe pull back the carpet by the center console and ground it there and run it behind the or up to the radio. just try not to make the wire too long.

Recheck you connections. 9 tmes outta 10 is your connection and not the ground. If not plan on running it to one of the doors and scraping off some paint in a hidden area.

I think all of my connections are OK, except for the ground.... I've also had a problem with the wires for my guages shorting and i'll lose my guage lights. I've had it in to the dealership twice and they couldn't find where the wires were shorting, but I found it. There are 2 bundles of wires coming up behind the cd player and those sparked on me when i was installing my new cd player, and now I think those are shorting out, draining my power. I'm at home for christmas, but when I get back to school I'm going to take it back to the dealership and make them fix it. Other then that I guess I can run a 10 guage wire straight from the battery to the +12 volt lead on my deck which should make it work.

I called Pioneer today, after numerously checking all connections, and they said it is a faulty HU. It is being covered by warranty, thankfully!
Thanks for the help guys!
