Re: Subaru STI Raced one?

Raced one from about a 15 mph roll (dont know why he wanted to go from a roll) back when i was pretty much stock and he hung with me until about 45 mph then i beat him by a few cars. I think of them as a 0-60 car. They are great from a stop up until about 60mph then the stock ones just fall on their face. I havent had any experience with a modded one though.

How are you going to disrespect a car you obviously know nothing about? STI is far from *** crap, we're not talking about a civic here. My friend has a black 04 STI with a couple of mods and i still can't catch him, do some research mr *** crap

Re: Subaru STI Raced one?

yeah if you race an awd car like the sti... they are amazing from a dig and they will probably beat you unless you race to 120 mph unless you amazing at launching you car... if you have DRs that will prolly give you the upper hand. if you raced one from a roll then you would demolish it since the advanatage (the amazing traction from a launch) that the awd car has is taken away.

and by no means are these cars "*** crap" they are pretty amazing seeing is how they are just as fast at our cars from a launch.

If your car is capable of traps higher than 101-102 you will beat it from a roll for sure (the Sti isn't known for having that great of a top end). From a stop you will have trouble unless you can hook up since they can pull 1.8-1.9 60's pretty easily stock thanks to the AWD, or unless you really have alot more power than it does to make up for the lead it will have from the launch.

The STIs are definitely cars worthy of respect. They are not slouches for sure.

raced one that runs 12.8 consistantly. same as mentioned above, they hook well off the line and then the crying begins when you catch up and make him look like hes sitting still.

Re: Subaru STI Raced one?

Raced one from a roll and owned it. considering he had to shift at 57 mph, where my 3:42s are good for at least 70 mph in 2nd. From a stop, I would have gotten owned. My car doesn't even have TCS so, no driver car avoid spinning the wheels yet accelerate are hard as the STi. That sucker launches hard but, its only 2.5 liters so, a big V-8 is stronger on the top end.

Re: Subaru STI Raced one?

My dad has one and I have a lot of respect for what it is...I did line up next to one at the track once and the owner was a real jerk. Kept saying, "Do you know what this is?" I said that I did adding that my dad has one. Then he said, "well you know then that I'm gonna beat you..." I said we'll see in a couple...He sat there revving the damn thing in the staging lanes and then he went 13.89 at 103 to my 11.55 at 118....I just laughed... I do like the cars, but this owner got schooled...I told him I just had a Borla cat-back

Re: Subaru STI Raced one?

The only problem I have with the STI's is that they're too much rally car, and not enough... car.

The interior I was in sucked horribly. The seating position felt like a bus, which was weird.. all the interior pieces seemed flimsy

Re: Subaru STI Raced one?

the same exact thing.... awd... amazing 0-60ft not a very strong top end.... race him from a start and he will have the upper hand, race him from a roll and you win

Re: Subaru STI Raced one?

The evos are about the same as the sti performance wise, they might be a tad faster in stock form. They do come with a 16g turbo and a front mount intercooler so its as easy as crankin the boost to run in th 12's.
