Awesome, All we need is 12 current students, and we get school funding. I need 12 signatures on an application with your student ID numbers. Matt-01-SS had interest on the CFFB, i wonder if he is with us?

i'll be parking up there on the backside of the new garage on the 3ed floor... possibly parked backwards, possibly not just to stand out :)

I wish I could help, but I'm not a UCF student. I would be more than happy to help you all out with any events that you come up with though. I have been following this idea for awhile. More power to ya, and if you need my help, then let me know.

<<<<<Hey Andrew, sorry I didn't call you back, I got the message like 2 days later (fuhgin Cingular) and then forgot. The cffb doesn't meet ALL the time anymore. As far as I know we still go down there to the Winn-Dixie I told you about but on a kind of RSVP deal where if a few people want to show up we talk it over on the board www.cffb.net and then decide on a time and/or place.
As for the UCF F-bod club, it was discussed amongst us at the beginning of this semester but everyone was rather busy and the idea sort of died. If you're gonna head up the committee to do it I'm all for it.

Count me in. So, including me, we have four people right now. There has to be eight others that would be interested, especially if we could get funding.

Hell yeah, I've been hoping for something like this to form since the first day I parked up on the 3rd floor and have been seeing other f-bodies park next to me. Im definitely up for any club you guys can form. Just tell me the time and place to meet up at. Well, you all know where I park, stop up and say hi. :cool:

This semester has been killing me, I may not be active enough to help lead it but I will help anyway I can. And definitely can give up UCF id numbers and such.

That would be cool, I'd like to join, but I'm not currently enrolled at U.C.F. I took the semester off, will be enrolling for next semester shortly.

Where do I sign ??

Do you have all of the paperwork required to start the student organization? If you want funding from UCF you need to write a 'constitution' and crap like that. I have the forms I can email if ya want.

I was curious exactly about what it means to have the school, "fund" our organization???

Any student group that fills out all the right paperwork (a constitution, formal set of organization rules, goals, etc.) is required to receive a certain amount of funding each semester by SGA (a few hundred I think ... $400-500?). They give you money to support and market your organization. I looked into starting a new MIS Assocation because MISA blows, so that's what I found out about it ... a bit of paperwork to get started but no big deal.

The other alternative, of course, is to start your own organization with out the school's 'blessing' - save the paperwork and do whatever the hell ya want!

Well I know I am willing to fill alot of paper work out for 400-500 dollars so a little downs sound bad.

Question is woudl it be better to keep this f-body or GM enthusisust?

I'd prefer only camaros and firebirds, but i have seen some cool Impy SS's around too...

If we post flyers around the campus we should have no problems attracting members.

Something like: Got a cool Camaro or Firebird/Trans-Am? Join the UCF F-body club! Then have a phone # and/or email address for them to contact us.

I'm really excited, this is gonna be kickass.

Yeah.. I'm up for it.. but I think I'd rather see it as a non-brand exclusive muscle car club (given the fact that the f-body is dead now) .. and besides, there are some people with some quick Stangs runnin' around that would probably be interested.. Just a thought.

Well, I don't really agree with the mustang thing. Not because i'm hatin on mustangs it's just that my car is, eh...NOT a "muscle car" and I wouldn't really belong in that club. I say we stick with F-bods. Just because they are no longer in production doesn't mean they don't have a following.

Not sure what I'll be doing tomorrow, but I'll stop by if I can. BTW, I think we should keep it all f-body to start, then maybe take on more as we gain a following.

Well that's a given. :) But I've seen some riced out Camaros running around too .. so I dunno. :P

Re: other types of cars .. It was just a suggestion...I just thought it might be kinda cool to diversify a little bit. That way if we get a bad rap...at least they can't single out Camaros around school. :D But seriously, this is a good idea. What sort of events could we do (aside from the obvious car shows)?

Hey Guys,

Here's how the funding thing with SGA works (I'm the financial officer of a club at school).

SGA doesn't automatically grant money to any club, you have to fill out a budget and appropriations form which can be obtained from SGA's office on the 2nd floor of the SU. Seeing how this will be a start-up club, you'll need to have the 12 members and their I.D. and SS numbers on a sheet of paper along with a constitution stating the purpose of the club and how it will be of benefit to students.

About the budget form. SGA's fiscal year starts in July and ends in June of the follwing year. Budget information needs to be submitted to them by 5:00 p.m. on 1-10-03 if I'm not mistaken.

If you all have any more questions, feel free to ask.

I got the paperwork, only one person showed up tonight. People- please post as to when you think our meeting should be, and where. We need to see if this is gonna work. As soon as we settle for a time for the meeting, i will put flyers on various F-bodies. I hope this comes together, but i will need some help from a few people to get this going.:cool:

Sorry man, I meant to show up. I started watching this movie, and the meeting completely slipped my mind. I rememered it at about 10:20. Maybe everybody interested should try to meet at one of the Steak n' Shake shows. Better yet, we should try to have a meeting at a time where we know we will all be at UCF. That way we can meet up after our classes.

id like to help out but i dont go to UCF. i met you at the track a month or so a go and ive seen you there a few times since then. im the guy with the black Z28 and the mean side burns. good luck on getting the club started. and get you signature changed, no more vette:( .

and run your car next time your at the track you can do better than a 13.5. if you dont believe me let me drive it:D .

hehe I would have been up for it, but I haven' been on the net in 2-3 days.... and I slept most of yesterday. when I got off work cathing up on some sleep I missed doing a research papaer.

I haven't been on here in little while.... but I'm up for something like this... let me know when a meeting is gonna be. I'll make it if I can. I'm a 4th year UCF student. If you are talking about GM RWD vehicles, my buddy (also a UCF student) will be finishing his 425 HP S10 Blazer project here really soon (Chevy 355, Holley SystemaxII longtubes...etc... built by Me). I know he'd like to join, if he's welcome.

I was out of town this weekend, when are we gonna meet ?

I'm up for whatever, whenever. I can't speak for the other guys though, they seem to have lost interest already! Come on everyone, this could be alot of fun if we can just get it off the ground.

i'm uber busy all week generally with school, work, or the g/f. heck i barrowed a compression guage this weekend and i havn't found the hours to use it :(

the weekends i don't have to go to work, and usually its time to work on the car or the g/f

next weekend (nov 9th) is UCF LAN, so i'll be in the student union all day. this would be a good time to meet for me :)

I am working on a project all week, and this weekend I think I am going to get worked like a $2 whore at work this weekend.

I might try and make it out to martin sports car club autocross this weekend, I think I don't work till like 6 at night, but the night before I think I get off work at like 3am.

I still think it would be a good idea if we could all meet between classes or something. Why don't we try Wednesday sometime after 12:00? I just figure it would be easier for everybody if we could find a time where most of us will be on campus anyway and then picking a time that doesn't interfere with our classes. Or we could try to meet at Steak n' Shake this Saturday.

i took the car for a spin last night around the apartments after i re-screened my MAF and saw a camaro pull up and park near where you park. i thought it was you cause it was dark out but when i did a u-turn and got the headlights on the paint i noticed it was that black camaro. almost pulled up next to say "hey are you eric?" when i saw the color was wrong... man that would have been embarrasing :)

i'd be there, but i'm at work till 6... and i have a huge test tomarrow :(

i see them all the time, they're ALWAYS working on those 3ed gen trans ams and one of them has a nice WS6 trans am. one of them over there has what looks like a v6 98+ camaro but it sounds like a v8...

Yeah I raced his 99 v6, he puled a 14.9 in it.

Wonder if he made it any faster.

actually something i just noticed...

there are water spickets in the new parking garage, the kind you can hook a hose up to. there is NO ONE up on that side of the garage on friday afternoon / night... that'd be an awesome place to wash / wax the car cause its covered and there is no dirt / etc around to blow onto your nice clean wet car. how much do you think they'd care? :)

how often do they patrol through the new parking garage on a friday afternoon? both parking services and the UCF usless police? one thing that might be of concern is they might come investigate when they see water dripping down from the upper levels.

at the very least, it'd be a good waxing place. wash the car at the apartment then drive it there and wax it in the shade. surely they wouldn't care about that...

I've been waxing my car in the parking garages for 3 years now. I usually wash it at the apartment, then drive to the garage (about 2 miles). I use a chamois cloth to dry it when I get there. Then use pre-wax cleaner and finally I wax it. I have never been bothered by anybody. I actually locked my keys in the car the last time I did it. So, I used that emergency call button to call the UCF police (cell was locked in the car :mad: ). The police called parking services to come help me (all they did was scratch up the trim around my door). I had to do it myself with their tools. I even told them what I was doing up there and they didn't say anything about it. :D

how do you think they would react to actually washing your car in the parking garage using their water spickets? is there a fine or something in that nature?

btw, their water spickets in the garage work, i tried them today :)

I honestly don't think they would ever know. Like I said, I've never been bothered while I've been in there. I say grab a hose and try it sometime, its the only way you'll ever find out. If anybody asks, just play dumb.

Cool I never noticed the spigets, I have waxed the car there but I don';t like to wash and drive across town then go wax.


BTW, RiverWinds off of dean road if you enter the apartment complex and drive all the way to the far back corner they have a wash area with free Vacuums and free hoses. mainly the vacuums is whats cool. By the way I think all BPs give have free air compressors, well the one on dean and university does..

And yes I snagged the pillar spot :)

As for working/'wahing cars? I have done everything from oil changes, diffy fluid changes, tire rotations, fuel filter, plugs/wires, senors, and even my rear axle/driveshaft swap and 4wheel disc brake conversion.

Funny yhing is out of all that stuff htey bithced at me the most about doing a tranny mount in the parking garage.

ohh well, I left my old driveshaft and rear end in the garag and was planning on picking t up the next day but when I went back it was gone. go figure.


iam going to look into washing my car there, I woudl love to wash my car at night, and parking garages are very well lit so I coudl start doing it.

BTW I doubt they would care, if the cop says something jsut play dumb, UCF police know Dumb real well.
