Admiral Z 12-08-2005, 09:10 PM Nevermind, had to remove the picture, sorry.
So for fun i photoshopped a 3rd gen grill on there and it looks alot more overall like a 3rd gen with just this simple piece in the middle of the grill, anyone else think so? I wasnt worried about proportions or anything as it was just for fun. For the record I like the original concept, I have a '67, but I did this because I thought maybe some folks could see theres more 3rd gen in there than may be easily noticeable, at least I seem to think so.
305fan 12-08-2005, 09:15 PM not bad but something doesn' work here.
What grill? Thats not a gril you put on.
The grill was below that and had "Camaro" or a red bow tie on it.
Chrome383Z 12-08-2005, 09:18 PM Actually if you made the Middle "Fill In" shorter (narrow) and added a second set of headlights It would look cool.
I still believe a late model third gen in good shape is the best looking Camaro ever even though I may own a 4th or 5th.

91-92 Z28s are my all time favorite Camaro.

That, or the first 4th gens. Both stood out very well in their period, and the 4th gen was a perfect evolution of the 3rd gen. How I would have loved to see what the designers could have done with yet another evolution ...
Admiral Z 12-08-2005, 09:36 PM Well you know what I meant 305fan, same difference, I filled in the grill to make it look like a 3rd gen.
Joe K. 96 Zeee!! 12-08-2005, 09:46 PM 91-92 Z28s are my all time favorite Camaro.
So that's why you chose that name!! :p
Oh..yeah, need a comment of substance...Make the headlight insets longer to add a second set of headlights. Make the grill a little taller.

That and the fact that I own one. 62k miles too, there is a video of it in my sig.
Admiral Z 12-08-2005, 09:55 PM Well I didnt want to change anything, I just wanted to add a piece to the middle as if it were an aftermarket piece to fill in the space to make it look like a 3rd gen, and to show that it looks more like a 3rd gen than some think, at least I noticed that, but maybe thats just me.

nice vid:bow:
91Z-28 12-08-2005, 10:00 PM When I heard it would be retro, but not specifically 1st gen I had my hopes up for a thirdgenesque car. It would probably have been a good idea, the Camaro was THE car of the 80s, at least the IROC was. It sold like a son of a bitch too. I'm sure that was the last era the F body was a highly profitable platform. Also, people who grew up loving those cars are probably 30-somethings now with more than enough cash to buy a new car. I think it would have been a decent idea.
BigggD222 12-08-2005, 10:01 PM clear plastic head light overs!
stars1010 12-08-2005, 10:02 PM Interesting, there could be something there.
88 Ram Air TA 12-08-2005, 10:40 PM It's almost perfect. It reminds me of my car.:D
Great job.
stangitr 12-08-2005, 10:45 PM no offense, but that looks like a mid 80s dodge daytona or something more than a third gen...fugly
Z28Wilson 12-08-2005, 10:45 PM Sorry but I think that fascia makes the car look even "older" than the original one does. Something has to be done to break up the huge gap between headlights.
91Z28350 12-08-2005, 11:29 PM AS oprevious owner of a 3rd gen, as much as I loved that car, I hated the miniscule air opening. That car ran so hot out here in Denver. Gimme nice LARGE air inlets for the radiator please.
90rocz 12-09-2005, 01:01 AM Interesting...the center crease is a little too vertical, and the headlight bezels need to be wider, like a dual headlight set up, or headlight / amber marker light combo.
0toinsanein5.4sec 12-09-2005, 04:51 AM i cant see it
jg95z28 12-09-2005, 09:58 AM You didn't have to do that for me to see a whole lot of 3rd gen in the nose. I see 1st, 2nd and 3rd gen styling cues throughout. :D

2000GTP 12-09-2005, 11:38 AM The car seems to have some similarity to an 80s style Monte Carlo SS in the front now.:D
NikiVee 12-09-2005, 12:31 PM If I photochop the concept into a GTO will it be removed also? And why?
number77 12-09-2005, 08:29 PM I just made a cool photchop of the 5th gen with the Lucerne vent. Too bad I can't show it. :(
NikiVee 12-10-2005, 09:20 AM once you photochop the concept it is no longer a Camaro IMO. I guess now you can't show some other concepts that just have the basic shape of the Camaro.
