My girlfriend's car got towed tonight.no numbers or ways to find out where it got towed form Northgate, I had to call random companies and ask if they tow from northgate or know who does.

Either way found out where and picked it up for $110.

My question is doesn't the apartment complex have to post a number or place where the cars being towed will be towed?

Second, I now know where the place is and I could cut through the pole to the gate where its at with my saw and demolition blade, and a power inverter for my car in less then 45 seconds and I know for sure no one is there at night they had to call a tow truck guy to meet me there to get my girlfriends car back and give him the money. Are there any specific laws about "liberating" your own car other then getting in trouble for vandalizing there gate?

If you got your girlfriends car back why do you want to go vandalize the tow truck co. property? Is it their fault your girlfriend parked her car illegally? They are doing what they have been hired to do by the apartment complex. If you have a problem with your girlfriend's car being towed take it up with the apartment complex.

my g/f and i make it a habit of moving her car to the visitors parking before 8pm because of their nazi towing practices...

i *think* the number is posted on one of the two signs that says tow away zone as you drive in, but i'm not sure.

northgate doesn't have 1 bedrooms... just

The tow companys are required to notify the local police dept when they do a private property tow or a repo. This procedure keeps cars from being reported stolen when in fact they were towed.

If a vehicle is towed and the owner breaks into the tow lot and takes the vehicle back they have committed burglary and theft of services(for not paying for the tow).

If she stays there regularly, why dont you get her a parking pass, as if it were an additional car in your apartment?

they won't give you one, even if you paid, only way to get one is lie and say yours got stolen/lost and pay a $200 fee and put it on her car then risk getting in trouble and getting my car towed because my Parking ID number is not valid but in reality they probable never will check the actual number on the parking decal.

hehe wasn't really planning vandalizing them now, just wondering what woudl be up in the future, if it were to get towed again. I know its the apartment complex's but at 1 am handing a guy $110 cash for him to move his tow truck so my girlfriend can move her car, just gets you initially pissed at that specific. I have learned my lesson about bitching to these places, next thing you know you get 4 eviction notices in a week, sure you can win them in a court battle but you have to go thorugh legal stuff, and argue, and provide witnesses. Apparently with apartmetn complexes and being a college student you are guilty till proven innocent and have to bring up prove your innocence and you spend so much time doing this you don't have time to address the first reason of bitching.

I don't know the specifics, but it seems as though if you'd get charged for burglary for "stealing" it back, couldn't you have the tow company charged with stealing your car? They took it in the firstplace. It's not like I forfeit my property rights when I park somewhere. Although maybe because of private property laws.. hm. It's funny though, my parking permit is on my car back home (I've had my father's towncar for three weeks now), and he threatened to kick their ass if they towed my car (I live at Jefferson Commons *cringe*). Apparently someone down there took notice, because I've been parked in a res spot sans-decal for the last three weeks with no problems..

Most apt complexes have contracts with tow companys to have them tow unauthorized cars at any time. Most businesses have them also. This is big money for wreckers. If you illegally park on private property you are subject to being towed. This ranges from apt complexes with assigned parking, to "parking for customers only" type of situations.
If you vehicle is towed for this reason it has not been stolen.
