I bot a 94 Z28 with 129,000 on it the guy told me that it was a good car.
But man was he wrong. I have had it 3 months and now it won't run. it just turns over and won't start. oh ya it back fires while tring to start. What should i do. Keep it and put money in it or junk it and take the lose as a learning. To do more home work next time. Or will this car be worth puting about six grand in to it. Sorry about sounding stupid.:(

Six thousand to fix a starting problem?
What are you going to do? Replace the engine and transmission because it has a difficult time starting? I don't understand what it is that you figure is going to cost that much.
Rule of thumb with cars: It's always cheaper to fix the one you've got rather than replace it.
Jeez man, you sound like you've given up entirely after what sounds like a small problem.
If you're not mechanically minded then have you even got anybody to look at it?
Even if there was a problem that was going to cost more than the car itself.......how do you figure you're going to sell it with it? Mabye you don't. It almost sounds like you're willing to simply "throw it away". :irk:
Tell you what - I'll buy it for two grand as is.;)

No way I haven't given up just yet. just every shop i call they keep wanting more money. the last shop wanted 700.00$ to do a tune up. Is this normal?

That's high for sure.
I'm betting they've changed spark plugs in a LT1 before and know that it takes 4 or 5 hours..........even so - that's too much money.
Rather than spend money getting somebody else to tune up your car, spend a quarter of that on some tools and a manual, then do the job yourself. It's quite rewarding.
Do some asking/searching in the LT1 forum section of this site and you'll find a load of information and experienced helpfull people.:)
I'm sure you can work out your problems for a very reasonable amout of money.

if you want it running right for a fair price PM bunker, i bet it just needs a tune up (opti or coil or wires in your case), and the brakes, well thats just maintainence crap that you have to do on any car. if the t tops leak then go to gm and buy new seals, simple as that.

this all depends on if you do work on cars yourself, if not, it could be $$$
brakes = cheap, really easy to do (1 hr, 2 if you've never done them before), tune up should cost no more than $250US for plugs/wires... maybe you've got a bad opti... that should take an afternoon at most...
starter problems happen, again, nothing more than an afternoon to fix, assuming you can get it diagnosed...
so, to answer your question, no, don't get rid of it just because a couple of things aren't great about it, these all seem like 'useables', i.e. tune up, brakes, maybe the starter motor, etc, all things that will eventually need to be replaced... as long as the motor, transmission, etc all work fine (the fundamentals), then you're fine
oh, and t-tops leak (a 94 is 11 yrs old now), you can adjust the window, if its worth the hassle, maybe clean up the rubber a bit, or replace it?? lessening t-top leak isn't all that hard... vaseline on the rubber even will do the trick (won't look great, but it works)

thank for the help. I have cleaned the rubber on the T tops and it looks in good condition. But the hole roof in the back of the car is wet and have standing water in the passinger side of the car. I keep vacuming it out and it still comes in even when its under my car port. I don't know why?

for the roof you can start by carefully removing your head liner, then sit inside while you have someone spray it down with a hose to see where its comming from. if the water is in the front of the passenger foot area it could be a poor windshield seal.
