meissenation 12-03-2005, 07:07 PM I sure hope not. The GTO just looks too... bulky. The station wagon looks like it's back in the 50's and the "futuristic" styling. The last link looks like a ferrari rear or something of the sort. Now, the 3rd link... I likie. :)

Hmmm...
How bout,
1st pic accentuates the green house of the car.
2nd "" "" the character lines of the fenders.
3rd "" "" the look of the front (for better or for worse)
4th "" "" the rear ( )
Maybe thats what hes trying to get us to piece together in our mind?...
Doug Harden 12-03-2005, 07:38 PM Nothings being hidden...to me, all I see are designers in the same studios using styling ques and concepts in various ways and on various concepts....with no common thread to tie them together.....just the same groups of people with similar ideas.
FiefSS 12-03-2005, 07:44 PM What FerrMaro said Is exactly what I took from that post. Giving us an idea of what the car will look like from different shots of other rides. The I guess you'd call em flares on the nomad... would be sweet almost like a 69 Camaros. The 1970 Style tail lamps too.. and the grill of course :) Sounds like hes pointing to the other thread from Hemmings Motor News.... If I put all those pics together I get the idea of the car mentioned in that thread :) And I LIKE!

SSbaby 12-03-2005, 09:43 PM Here's my 2c...
1. Love the profile from side-on.
2. I'm guessing the subtle hood cowl and hopefully not the over-protracting fender creases.
3. Clean looks, unmistakably Camaro.
4. Love the rear.

This is how I am interpreting it...
1-General body line
2-Fender flares maybe?
3-General front veiw
4-General rear view
Mix all those photos together with the angles they are showing... and I see a pretty nice car ;)

2 and 3 share the same fender lines...they are better looking on the Nomad. I am guessing that what is being said, is that we'll see 3 with the rear end of number 4.
what i don't understand is how the GTO plays into this. any clues?

DrewSG 12-04-2005, 02:10 PM Crispeys Camaro is the only one I've seen where the split bar actually works with the 69 front end. Though If I bought the car I would probably take it off or black it out

the overall shape of the greenhouse is the only thing i can see that would be part of the 5th gen.

If you cover up those HUGE fenders(or hips as I like to call them) with your index and pinky(making the death metal sign:metal: ) you can see a distinctive rear end.
Looks a little like the Mercedes CLS rear.
stars1010 12-04-2005, 02:58 PM I'm just waiting till Jan, I'm not going to let my self get all worked up until then.
90rocz 12-04-2005, 03:02 PM I liked the one, when in Red color, I can't remember the thread, but I liked it more than most of the concepts.

Just like to see the front look a little more modern.
They all seem to have a Retro-Forward theme.

:D :D :D
Take the side profile of the first one and hints of the greenhouse...........
Then take the side fender creases of the 2nd one.......and possibly the front bumper grill area.........
Greenhouse area, nose elements, elements from the body from the hoodline up or belt line if you wanna call it that down the side of the car...........................
And of course the taillights position of Chevy badge and a variation of the rear bumper.......
I think you might have quite a decent looking Camaro there
ckt101 12-04-2005, 05:28 PM Since the gto concept dates back to 1999, I think it has nothing to do with the upcoming Camaro. As far as we know, work on the next Camaro started years after this concept was unveiled. I've always thought that the nomad and the ss styling concepts could be related to gauging interest for a new camaro though. We'll find out soon enough won't we?

I don’t think Guy is saying they did the GTO concept with intentions of using its style on the new Camaro, but that cues from these concepts will be incorporated.
But once again, even though I’m sure there are blatant cues right in front of us with these previous concepts, I’m not going to worry about them until the Camaro is unveiled.
I can’t make a judgment until I see it all together.
And past that I’m not going to make my final judgment until I see it in person in Dallas later this spring.

1) Eww
2) Gross
3) Too soft; needs work.
4) Not bad; too Corvette-ish.
How difficult would it be to take the styling of a 1969 Camaro and bring it into the present?

Joe K. 96 Zeee!! 12-04-2005, 06:44 PM Without further explanation, you can't really surmize anything. Once I see the concept I think I'll go back to this post. Maybe then it'll all make sense. Puzzle pieces are coming together and we can almost make out the picture.
Meccadeth 12-04-2005, 10:13 PM The SS concept and that concept originated from C&G still give me goosebumps. BTW, wasn't Kris suppose to do a 3d model of that?

yeah goosebumps of how bad teh camaro may look?, damn i hope GM does somthing right
guionM 12-04-2005, 11:18 PM These were ideas that were hidden in plan view. They provided a picture of what the thought was at the time.
The GTO concept is the proportions of what the Camaro might have had if development continued on the Sigma car back in '99.
The Nomad (also a concept from '99 with the GTO) was based on the 4th gen Camaro, and had some styling ideas (wheel swishes and grille) of the time that could have been on a 5th gen.
Chris Pawley's drawing was based on a number of people who were working on design for a "Chevy Coupe" that was headed for production. This car has the proportions of the GTO concept, and the wheel swishes and grille similar to the Nomad.
The SS' rear has circular tail lights and perhaps an updated green house of a new F-body idea.
Won't know how (or if) everything fits together till next month.... but it's going to be intresting comparing. :)
