Just found that out from a B/GMC/P telecast I just watched...

I told you guys these suckers were good :D

They are a great choice for a front driver, and I hear someone got one to run a 13.6@102mph. Had the timeslip and everything. Although he said the car was the hardest car to launch he has driven in his life. I think they are good looking inside and out; car screams Pontiac.

Our IT Director where I work recently bought a GP GXP. It really is a nice car. Sounds good too. :D

If they are selling so well, why haven't I seen one?

I guess that is why I haven't seen one on the lots yet? I am like 91z284me, I haven't seen one on the road yet either.

Man....those are sexy cars.

If they had a decent tow rating I'd consider trading our Blazer for one.......but alas - they only tow 1000lbs.:(

If they ever came with a M6........I'd be even more tempted!:D

I see them alot over here in my area of Pa. Last time I was at Coley Pontiac they had a fully loaded one sitting next to a 6speed G6 GTP and a 6 speed GTO lined up in front of the office window.

Does that mean they sold 3 GXP's out of 9 total GP's? Do you have actual numbers? Any word on how many Impala's are SS's?

Jason E

I don't know about Impala SSs, but out of the 10 or so I've seen, half have been SSs!

And no, it doesn't mean 3 GXPs of 9 sold, smart a** :D Actually, GP sold like 11-12k units in October alone...not sure about November.

There are lots of new Impalas here, but that is not good. I live in the Capital city of KY, the state has already gotten a huge fleet of new '06 Impalas. They are the basic fleet cars either white or blue with the state seal on the door, state execs/employees drive them around the state. Around here I think this waters down the new Impalas and hurts retail sales. Chevy should have extended '05 Impala production just for fleet cars, and left the new '06s on the retail lots.

They're a great choice period! Driving it hard in the twisties, it doesn't "feel" FWD. Nailing it from a stop, the torque steer is as manageable as a slithering tail in an F body that's trying to get traction. 6 of one, 1/2 dozen of the other IMO. :)

I think you guys havn't seen many because 1/3 is a percentage, not a total sold. GP in general are a car I don't see many of.

I haven't seen any out here yet.

But somehow I've seen 3 Solstices so far.

Strange.

I was under the impression that the GPs are selling well. I see them all the time around here.

Anyone seen or heard of a dyno for one of these 5.3 front drivers? Just curious what kinda power they're really putting down, haven't heard yet. I haven't seen either a GXP or a Imp SS that I'm aware of....

Do the GXP's have an LSD or just an open diff?

Jason E
12-04-2005, 04:50 PM
Open diff...but the torque steer issue is really pretty good, considering what this car is. An LSD would be nice, but I can see why they didn't bother. If I had one, a tranny cooler, some synthetic fluid and an aftermarket LSD would probably be making their way in it, I have to admit :D

I'm sure the aftermarket is already on top of the LSD issue.:)

I'm thinking REAL hard about picking one up soon. The red tag on them is $26k and change....not bad for what you get.

Jason--can I use my GM supplier discount in addition to the red tag and all other incentives?

I'd believe it . This is GP country up here , lol ....there everywhere . I have seen several GXP's on the road already . The Cyclone grey ( I dunno what this color is called for the GP's ) looks hot , perfect color for the package with the wheels and red calipers .

Im starting to see more of them around Orlando. I went forever without seeing one and then all of a sudden, they came out of the woodworks. I was next to a white one the other day and man what a difference the GXP package does to the Grand Prix! Big tires, big cross-drilled brakes, good looking stance, makes the car look a whole lot better.

After seeing one in person out on the road, I gotta say I think I'd take a GXP over just about any other sport sedan out there right now. In black, the thing would just look sic :metal:
