AutoRoc 12-01-2005, 06:41 PM http://www.detroit-scca.org/ Check in a few months. Usually they do a 5-10 race schedule. Other clubs set up stuff also. DeFormula 12-01-2005, 07:56 PM Also check www.myautoevents.com and google dcscc..which stands for "detroit council of sports car clubs". Red89GTA 12-01-2005, 10:40 PM There is usually a bunch of other clubs that do auto-x races too, but the SCCA definatly is the best known. That is both their biggest strength and weakness (paying $20+ for 3-4 runs, hmmm.....). True, but keep in mind the amount of seat time you're getting for your twenty bucks. 3 runs at about a minute or so each...3 - 4 minutes of seat time vs 20 bucks at the drag strip, which depending on how fast your car is, might be less than a minute of actual racing seat time. Just another way to look at how you spend your money. Drag racing is usually cheaper for me though, because I win alot! :) pHEnomIC 12-04-2005, 12:35 AM Thanks for all the information, much appreciated, I'll make sure to attend at least a few events this year. I did 23 runs for 20$ at the drag strip. Averaging 14.2 so, i got 5.4 minutes! of draggin, not counting anything else, for 20$ heehee. Thanks again. If any big events come up anytime soon, you can pm me if you want. At the Corvette club events I think it was around $12 for 4 runs, and after the event was over, for a few $ you could make up to 3 "fun runs", timed but not part of the compitiion. Obviously, I ran my best times in the fun runs. | ||
