something big for sale...

ok here it goes
a friend of mine wanted me to build him a bullet proof ford 302 for his car.So i told him i would get on it right away and to pay me when it's all done "mistake"...so i started out by buying a brand new roller block from jegs for $443.95 shipped to my door....god they rape for shipping!!Anyways i have put over $1,900.00 into this short block alone!! but since i have no use for a ford motor hehe hopefully someone on here does or know someone that does...this is what i call my "stage II" shortblock and will handle over 600hp+ this was supposed to be a VERY reliable street motor and go for more than 100k miles but run low 12's all day in a full weight mustang gt...but if you change the cam i put in it "mild f-cam" to like a comp cam XE266HR and a nice cylinder head you will be screaming through the traps at over 115mph or more...then hit it with a 100 shot of giggle gas and go 125 mph in the 1/4 easy with this set up....and i know this short block will stand up to any kind of power u can throw at it...here is the parts list......
1.Brand new ford racing production H.O. roller block.
2.Brand new 10/10 finished nodular iron crankshaft.(stronger than 80% of forged cranks out there!).
3.Resized production 5.0 H.O. rods (sent out and chryogenicly treated to withstand 7,000+ RPM and 550+hp without even beginning to fail!)
4.Even though it's a brand new block i sent it out to have the mains alighn honed to ensure straightness because i want the motor's i build to be bulletproof and live very long trouble free lives).
5.Forged aluminum T.R.W. flat top production style pistons.
6.Speed pro plasma moly piston rings.
7.Mains are studded with A.R.P. main studs.
8.Rotating assembly professionaly balanced for use with 18.1 sfi balancer (production 5.0 weight).
9.King acular rod,cam,and main bearings.
10.Melling heavy duty high volume oil pump.
11.Ford motorsport forged oil pump shaft.
12.Dynagear high performance roller timing chain.
13.Ford motorsport F-303 cam.."mild" 226/226 .512"/.512" 110 LS
14.Brand new water pump.
15.Ford motorsport "R" hyd. roller lifters.
16.All gaskets are quality Fel-pro Elite series.
These items also come free with the shortblock and are brand new still in the box (Chrome Edelbrock valve covers,Ford motorsport hardened pushrods,A.R.P. head bolts, never used Holley 600 cfm vac. secondairy carb, and the full gasket set to complete a long block..also have 1.6 roller tip rail style rockers i will give away with the motor)...well like i said there is over $1,900.00 worth of parts in this motor and i am pissed at the kid because now he doesnt have enough money lol..so i cut him a deal..then he lost his job to!!So now i am forced to sell it..this is a VERY solid shortblock and is extremly beautifull even for a ford motor but I gotta make a super sacrifice and sell it for $850.00 OBO it has zero miles in it and is ready to make some HP!let me know guys,
thanks,carter

Damn man... thats a steal... Too bad I don't need one right now. That sucks what happened to ya... I built a similar motor for my "little project 86GT" and I know how much you must have in it. Where were ya like 3 months ago..

People.. this is a REALLY good deal for a motor like this one (if you need a Ford)..

Just a thought.... but you might try posting an ad over on http://trader.stangnet.com or http://www.corral.net/classifieds You'll probably get more mustang people to look at it that way. I would think someone would jump on that deal, I would if I didnt have a brand new motor already.

new 10/10 crank>

If it's a brand new crank, then why are the journals cut down?

Hey dave,
of course 10/10 is a used crank....my 10 year old sister knows that..what i intended was brand new as in never run..freshly machined...if it was brand new i would not have put the factor of 10/10 in there along with it, know what i mean?later!

hehehe

Well, I know that...you know that.. and your ten year old sister knows it too....apparently..... But some of the folks looking for a new short block here might not know that. You know what I mean?

At any rate... I hope you can sell it. It sucks to pay for all the machining to rebuild the guy's motor and then he bails on you.

Oh yeah true..i never thought of that hehe...well then im glad you posted about it so it will clear up any confusion thanks....how's your car coming BTW?last i saw you had put the blower on it and werent very happy with the results...but powerdyne isn't exactly a race blower, and i know your aware of that...i had a 4.5 psi on my old 94 z and i was very dissapointed also..actually i only saw a 43.3 rwhp and 39.4 rwt gain between no blower and the blower lol..manifold was showing a little below 3 psi..and i know yours if it's a 6 psi kit should only show about 4.5 or 5.0 psi with those AFR's on there..what cc are the chambers in those? anyways man i hope you get it figured out cuz that car is just plain SWEET!! give powerdyne a call..because you can order the 9 psi pulley (they won't warranty it because it comes semi close to max impeller speed) but you will see approx. 7.5 psi out of it and pick up some extra ponies or just sell that kit and slap on an ATI blower!! hehe let me know when your gunna hit the track next i wanna see that beast take flight! later,

A lot has changed

Actually, a lot has changed.

I was happy with the blower, but the engine spun a bearing so I decided to sell the blower and all my performance parts (including the heads), and then I built a 454 big block and put it in. I'm really happy with it so far, as it seems to pull alot stronger than the supercharged smallblock. I haven't run it at the track yet as there are some small issues I'm still working out. But I'm in no hurry as I'm just enjoying being able to drive it again after it was down for 7 months while I was doing to rebuild/conversion. I will probably have the car at the CFFB cruise Saturday night in Altamonte if my girl doesn't have any surprise 'honey-do's' for me.

Talk to you later...

-Dave C. '97 Z28

My girl photographed almost the entire conversion, so if you want to check it out it's on my website at "home.bellsouth.net/p/pwp-DaveHome"..look under Photo Albums, then Big Block...
