hey guys, Im new, got a few questions

Hey guys, Im brand new with this message board, just registered a few mins ago.

I have a 2002 pewter v6 camaro, the only mods I have on it right now are krypton headlights and a full catback borla exhaust.

I have a few questions for the mods I am looking to make...

As far as intake, what is the best intake for a 02 v6 camaro??? Im looking at a cold air or ram air probably from this site

Im also looking to buy a new hood, I like the look of the trans am ws6 hood made for camaros, and I saw it on the ftforce.com website but im not sure if that would work with a new intake or if it will fit v6s???? Also, Im looking as to possibly buy headers and chip, but I am not familiar with anything of that nature, how much hsp gains can you get from either and what is the best to get and the costs?

Sounds like you havea nice car, I would go with a CAI instead of ram-air since you are thinking on gettin a different hood, but you can make ram-air functional with the right hood.
As far as body mods go, anything the fits a Z will fit a V6.

You are looking at some pretty good HP gains w/ intake and exhaust mods ;)

Thanks bud, Ive never heard of CAI, what is that? Also, with the ram-air... if I get a kit, and a new hood, it could be very possible that the hood wont work with it , right? Also, is there a really good cold air intake I can get which will work with any hood I may decide to get? also, by body mods that you said will fit the v6 if it fits the z28, does that mean the hood too?

CAI is a term we use for cold air intake. A CAI will work with any hood you get.

Other sites are GTforce.com and driverfx.com, theres many more.

welcome to the board...I just got an SS Hood for my V6. They fit perfectly although you will have to do some adjustments to line everything up. As far as cold air and induction goes, I would say get a Whisper Lid and the SLP Cold Air Induction. Both of those are, with tax and shipping, around $138 from thunderracing.com I just use my hood for looks. The reason is that even though the hood is functional, it just blows air. The SLP CAI uses compressed air that is forced in. The CAI for your car will be the metal scoop.
