The class I am running has changed its rules so I'm pulling my twin t60-1 turbos and installing a turbonetics y2k. I'm looking for people who has installed these big turbos or somethig similar and what the best layout would be in my 95 Z28

The big turbo's I've seen in F-bodies are mounted sideways in front of the motor.

I'm curious about your setup. I have 2.73 gears, th-350, and my Vigilante 2800 stalls to 5200+. I run out of gear at ~150 mph. How are you running with 4.30's? What sort of times do you run?

Thanks,
Mike

I never got it to the track with this setup only the dyno And I thought the same as you with the gears. My engine builder said that the engine is built to shift @7500 rpms so it would be close. I have a trans-king converter that was a 4200 that I blew right by on the dyno so I sent it in and had it redone and I am picking up my new powerglide tomorrow

Interesting setup. Did you make the log manifolds yourself? Any problems with cooling with the intercooler in front of the radiator?

If you writing to me, they are not log manifolds. They are stainless 1 3/4" headers with 3" v-clamps and a 5" down pipe. Under "new system" which is sold system.

no cooling problems.

You need to up date your sig now. Did you get these DFI files I sent 95bird?

Sorry cody. I will not be making any more turbo systems until spring or summer 2006. However, do a search on chevy stainless in ebay motors exhaust section and you will find some none magnetic s-10/blazer v-8 headers that will work. Just have a welding shop put some 2 1/2 or 3" v-clamps on the ends and raise the dr side (#7) tube up one inch. That should get you going for under 400.00 dollars.

I know you have seen the system SmoknZ, I was just razen ya. :D

Did you sell your new setup already?

Sure did, the car and turbo. I have a blue 94 Z that I drove in college. It was being neglected so I am working on it. This car will be more streetable with 383, procharger, DFI-7, AC, PS, 6-speed, heads, cam, dual disk clutch, 12-bolt, DR's, custom carbon cluster, all stainless line, 1 7/8 LT, 4" muflex with dual 3" out spintech muf, and a few other little things. I just gave up on the Big HP stuff and wanted something easier to drive when it is time. I have all the parts, just need more time do do the install.
