Chris 96 WS6 11-15-2005, 02:20 PM I love how the author couldn't resist editorializing about the environment despite the fact the piece is not an editorial. That blurb is a few weeks old. wrastler 11-15-2005, 02:20 PM thats an old article...been in several threads already. That is what almost all of the conversations in this forum have been about. It was also CamaroZ28.Com front page news on August 4. Check the other threads about it and feel free to join the conversations! It is pretty exciting. I also put a count down timer on the front page. :) jcamere94z28 11-15-2005, 02:31 PM oops my bad people.. i usually keep up.. but work has been really killing me here and a friend sent me that... stars1010 11-15-2005, 02:58 PM we prob need to put some sort of sticky in this forum explaining this, I imagine there will be a lot more people posting threads like this who do not frequent the 5th gen forum like we do. guionM 11-15-2005, 03:00 PM oops my bad people.. i usually keep up.. but work has been really killing me here and a friend sent me that... Is there any truth to this rumor? JEDCamino 11-15-2005, 09:46 PM First time I had seen the article. turbo96z28 11-15-2005, 09:51 PM An insider at another message board, who has proved very accurate in the past, says that the Camaro may use a Kappa Plus platform, not a Sigma based platform. Is there any truth to this rumor? what board and who was the poster??? jg95z28 11-16-2005, 02:58 AM An insider at another message board, who has proved very accurate in the past, says that the Camaro may use a Kappa Plus platform, not a Sigma based platform. Is there any truth to this rumor? Concept or production Camaro? If concept, anything is possible, afterall its just a concept. If however he means the production Camaro, Mark Reuss suggested otherwise, so I'd have to say no. ehaase 11-16-2005, 05:32 AM Hudson, who posts at GMI and at Cheers and Gears, posted this at C&G. For instance, they recently gave a glowing review to the Chevrolet Impala SS, and complimented them for ridding the car of the "profound" torque steer they found in the Grand Prix GXP - most have not found torque steer in either. They then went on to describe the engineering features of the Impala SS that solved the problem, as if the Pontiac did not have each and every feature they were discussing. Then they add silly comments to news bits. The writer thought, "muscle cars...1970's...gas," and spewed it on the webpage. Had he done research he would have found that the last gen Camaro's EPA numbers, from the Clintonian age of cheap gas, are still on par with those of the average family sedan. There's no basis to the environmental comment. The core of the problem is that more tradtional magazines, and even less tradtional ones like edmunds are losing the monopoly on news to forums like this, and thus feel compelled to peddle their "expert" analysis. Chris 96 WS6 11-16-2005, 10:55 AM ...from the Clintonian age of cheap gas... I guess you couldn't help yourself either. Editorializing...... I'm not going to get into the whole thing but Clinton had exactly nothing to do with cheap gas other than the fact he happened to be Presindent at a time before demand so totally outstripped refinery capacity that prices spiked. That's like calling the 80's 49ers a product of the Reagan era of west coast offense. Zarathustra 11-16-2005, 11:27 AM I guess I must have been living under a rock, because I am both surprised and delighted to see this. The Camaro has been gone too long. PacerX 11-16-2005, 12:46 PM An insider at another message board, who has proved very accurate in the past, says that the Camaro may use a Kappa Plus platform, not a Sigma based platform. Is there any truth to this rumor? Spit it out. There's no need around here to put in the typical "we're not going to mention another board caveats" when talking about things like this. Informationally speaking and considering the quality of thought and experience, this is the top board on the web for future vehicle information where GM is concerned. When you're the best, there is no fear of competition. turbo96z28 11-16-2005, 01:01 PM Spit it out. His C&G post quotes mine which mentions Camaro and Sigma lite. He was simply saying that the Willmington plant which I was discussing might have something other than what I assumed it could have. He has not responded about Kappa plus. For all I know he could just be using that as an example to show that we really don't know what is going there.
