who knows how to copy a video from a camera to a pc file?IrocSS85 11-14-2005, 10:30 PM Ihave no clue how to do this. will I need just a special cable? or would you need to have editing software?   SSpdDmon 11-15-2005, 11:36 AM If the camera didn't come with the software/cables, you'll need to buy a tv/video capture card. It will have the same kinds of hook-ups that are on the back of your tv/vcr and the software you'll need. Just make sure you have enough HD space. I went with WinTV personally. Does a decent job. JakeRobb 11-15-2005, 12:46 PM What kind of camera? IrocSS85 11-15-2005, 06:37 PM its a sharp camcorder. it uses the old school hi-8 tapes. the mini vcr lookin tapes. it has an a/v cable jack, but no usb jack or anything. would it be possible to transfer this video onto a newer digital camera using the a/v cable output? IrocSS85 11-15-2005, 06:39 PM whats WinTV? how much would something like that cost? not really wanting to spend any cash. Id proly just wait till next year and record it with a better camera. It allows you to basically watch TV on your computer as well as record what you see, whether it's cable tv or something off your camera. IrocSS85 11-16-2005, 12:08 AM very cool. I think I will be getting that. thanks for the link. QUASAR BLU 11-16-2005, 08:13 AM You can also buy a convertor that plugs into the usb port. the convertor has a/v or s-video cables that go into your camcorder. I think it was made by Pinnacle, about $75 for the convertor box thingy and software. Has worked good for transferrring my 8mm. JoeliusZ28 11-16-2005, 10:28 AM i use RCA cables to plug into my All-in-wonder video card, and record in the media player it came with. IrocSS85 11-16-2005, 08:43 PM actially joelius is onto something. I have a radeon 9550 card, and it has tv capabilities. and my dad seems to think it came with software to do this, and if not he can get it for me. Im hoping all I need is software to do the conversion. I know it'll plug in and play on my pc, just have to figure out how to convert it.
