Clutch now grabs off the floor??

Is this a hydrolic problem, or worse? All of a sudden yesterday while driving, I shift and the clutch engages as soon as my foot comes off the floor, and is a little harder to put into each gear when the pedal is on the floor. When I rev it high or hold the revs high, there is no vibration of the engine that would suggest something out of balance, still smooth. It does have a slight vibration in the pedal now though that wasnt there before. Also since it grabs literally right off the floor, there is a slight chatter when taking off from a start at low rpms.

What could the problem be, and what can i do to check it out before pulling the whole trans?

Sounds like one (or more) of the springs on the clutch disk is broken.
