Hi I just bought off ebay a factory service manual for my 1996 camaro. It has 2 books and the 1st has the green cover but the second has a white cover and say prelimanary. I have the chance to just buy the regular book 2. My question is should I. Is the prelimanary book 2 pretty much the same as the regular? Does it have the same information or is there any changes? Does anyone know the difference between them? Thanks ~ Erik

I had one of those once. Lol, maybe it was the one I had (I sold it when a non-preliminary one came my way). :D I just felt better with the non-prelim book. :) I think the main difference was the layout of the schematics.

What do you mean by the layout was different... like its easier to read? So most or all of the information is the same then?

I got book 1 and 2 for my 97 for free (never been used) and they are very nice to have. I think you will be happy with which ever one you get.

In 1996 or so, they changed the way the schematics were laid out on the pages in the manual. The later manuals have them where you turn the book sideways to look at them (landscape), instead of the old way (portrait). I don't think the tech info is different.
