LT1 vs. 2006 Roush Mustang
LT1 vs. 2006 Roush Mustang
Just for kicks I wanted to drive a new 2006 Roush Mustang GT.
It ran very well, better than I expected and felt like a solid 13 second car. Zero to sixty was low to mid five seconds. The 4.6 pulled hard in every gear above 5K RPM. There was even 3 people in the car plus it was a vert.
I have heard storys about the LT1 beating these new Mustangs in a race but I sure dont agree after driving the Ford, it felt clearly superior. This car felt the same as the LS1 SS's I have driven in terms of power and the butt-o-meter.
I sure hope that when I put the RK sport headers, new plug wires and LT4 valve springs and 1.6 Comp roller rockers on it will feel as powerful as the new Ford. My car has no power above 4.8K RPM. I would like to do the LE1 but its out of the price range.
This would have been an embarrasing defeat.

Re: LT1 vs. 2006 Roush Mustang
the newer roushes will beat a stock LT1 an LS1 would give it a much better run
but then again its all about drivers when teh times are soo close

My Ole lady LT1 can still lay some rubber down the street and can wheelchair its way around some rustangs around here. I just fixed some spark plug issues and she is back on her feet scaring some sticker infested imports too.
A new car will always feel good.... the track is the final asnwer.

Ive been looking for a new Mustang on the street but can't find one. Im currious as to how fast they are compared to our cars. I did find a Subaru WRX on the way to work the other night
