I'm currently looking for a 3.8 Camaro. No much money at the moment, but I'm hoping and wishing really hard. Can't afford insurance ona Z or SS so I'm going with an ole powerful V6, which is all I will need in order to not kill myself.

SO... What year did they start putting the 3800 in the Camaro's and a little information on both engines if possible..

I've saw a 95 which both engines so..

They put both the 3.4 and 3.8 in '95, except you could only get the 3.8 in Cali.

By '96 all V6 Camaros came with 3.8s ;)

hmm I am not sure about the cali thing but that may be true I am not sure. Although check on those 95's I am in VA and there are always a couple in the paper. But you are doing the smart thing and finding out everything before you buy.

4,787 1995 3.8 liter 231 ci cars were built. They were all built and classified as Early Production, NONE were classified as california emissons only. All were automatics.

Infact there was a post about this awhile ago and there was someone who had a 3.8 they bought new in Texas i think it was.

We haven't stated they were "California Emissions" only. It's stated that they were available mid year in California only. That's also the same time that the Z-28 went to dual CATS in califormia.
