Katech project SS goes 12.70 @ 114

We took the SS to the track to get a baseline run with the mods it has now
heads
cam
LS6 intake
SLP headers
SLP exhaust
SLP intake lid

It has traction problems, wheel hop and suspension problems to be sorted out. Also it's running very rich and needs to be tuned better. It made 368hp to the rear wheels.

On another interesting note, it had a IAT resistor in it. We took that out and made 8hp! Those things are a joke.

I don't know. We just bought the car like this and did a baseline run.

gotcha

if it truely has head work done, it must be a baby cam...to not even make 370rwhp on a H/C setup.

but like you said...it's a baseline.

what are the motor plans??

I think the reason it only put down 368 is because of a lousy tune. It's very rich.

My boss is at SEMA now meeting with manufacturers and magazine publishers to see what kind of powerplant everybody wants to see. After that, we will make our decision. We have a couple ideas in mind though

agree, my h/c was only putting out 370rwhp with the right or actually wrong tune.

12.7 seems really slow for these mods, but the mph seems strong. This could be from the traction problem you mentioned. What were the 60' times and what elevation/track conditions?

Ok, sorry. I saw the video and that explains it. You pulling soft off the line and pulling really hard from then on.

Yes, it does seem slow. The suspension is stock and I was getting a lot of wheel hop. I was also getting a horrible banging at times in the trans tunnel. The trans mount is obviously shot. I never had a 60ft time under 2 seconds. The elevation is only around 300ft above sea level. The car doesn't have line lock yet and I was having trouble doing a burnout because the burnout pad was so sticky. Hopefully you don't see these as excuses, but rather explanation to your question.

I'm not reading into it as excuses. I thought the time was low, but once I saw the video I realized how slow you were coming off the line and how hard the car pulls on top. You should see some nice times once you take care of that 60' time Believe me, I have the same issues trying to launch on street tires.
