Leaking master cylinder?

Is this considered a leaking master cylinder or is this what the shop manual refers to as "damp"?

If it's leaking is it worth it to rebuild it or just buy a new one?

I wasn't able to find a rebuild kit; I picked up a rebuilt unit. Straight forward swap, just need to do a bench bleed first.

Go to autozone and buy a new cap first.

The cap fingers get weak after a few years and allow fluid to seep out. Due to the angle it collects at the base of the MC.

If the MC is really leaking bad it comes through and you will get fluid on the carpet. Also you will get weak braking due to air in the lines.

Or clean everything and wrap a rag near the cap if it gets wet it is not coming out of the back of the cylinder.

Mine looked just like that, and it was the cap.

I'll definitely try that first.

I do have weak braking though, and I was hoping this was the problem.
