Wow, I can only imagine what the turbocharged one that is in the works is supposed to cost.

A Solstice with all options and destination comes to $26,835. A $2K markup doesn't seem surprising for a limited production model in its first year during the first months of availability. I wouldn't pay it, but that's no shocker.

Well something to consider, the local Pontiac dealer near me said they weren't going to sell their first Solstice ( supposedly not going to br getting any others for quite sometime) just so that people could check it out and test drive it. It kind of make sense, have a showroom traffic builder, but to me aren't dealerships supposed to be in business of selling cars? Because if I went in there and was in the market now, and they turned me away I'd go somewhere else obviously.

People will pay it and they are in the business of making money after all... Quick buck anyway.

Chris Rock as a Pontiac salesman:

"The Solstice is beautiful isn't it?.....How 'bout some Grand Prix!?"
"Yeah, roadsters are nice.....How 'bout some G6!?"
"Nothing beats a convertible.....How 'bout a used Sunfire convertible!?"

"I'll give ya a free bottle a' 'tussin"

I still thinks it is idiotic, regardless of whether Mazda is doing it or not. That is a good question though. I think I am going to check out a few Mazda dealerships in the area when they pick up the Miatas and see what they are selling at.

The Mazda dealership here is selling them for MSRP, no gouging. Poor GM.

Saturn Sky can't come soon enough. That'll put Solstice back at it's price point for sure!
