Saw my first Solstice and Impy SS moving around town

The kind of beige/silver whatever you call that color Solstice. Top down, old man driving it down the street with his old wife in the passenger side. The car looked great as he rolled by, and I could see the smile on his face which I hope was from driving it.

I have to say that after seeing a new Impala SS(silver) today and a Solstice, neither of them look like GM cars in all honesty. The Impala really does look a lot like a Toyota in styling, although I was glad to see the brake light still has a circular light. The Solstice, I don't know what is looks like but not a traditional GM, although I think the styling is great and at least ten people turned to watch it. The Impala not so much, bland is about the best you could hope for in describing it.

My reaction exactly when I saw my first '06 Impala on the street. Took a moment to register that it was a Chevy.

I saw my first Solstice the other day too. Silver---not my choice but damn I liked it! As for the Impala---don't insult it by saying it looks like a Toyota! :D

A lot better, IMO. I like the SS too--about 5K cheaper then any Hemi DCX cars---in Canada that is.

i really do like the looks of the impala ss
first time i saw it was from a bit of a distance frome the rear and i honestly thought it was a cobalt ss but without the over exagerated wing until i got up close and realized it was much bigger
as for the solstice havent seen one in person yet but from pictures they kinda remind me of a TVR for some reason

I too saw a silver Solstice around here recently and I have to say it's very damn sweet looking and really stands out. It blows the Miata outta the water in the looks department, the Solstice just plain looks awesome and the Miata just plain looks plain... Now if only it wasn't slow, and I'd like a coupe...

I have seen both cars and I like the Impala because it is simple yet not boring. The Solstice on the other hand is just amazing in person. WOW!! If they could put that quality into every car they would have Toyotas @ss kicked back to Japan!
