Ops my bad.
Well "bone stock" 212 at the rear.
Pulled the fuse to the PCM and reset the computer.
I got another 12HP out of it for a total of 224. :) :thumb:
I have to scan my Dyno print out and post it up.
With like 85 thousand miles on it.
I thought it was kinda low but I guess 60HP lost through the trans and rear is not too bad.

Well I don't even have my CIA on.
Stock is 285 at the flywheel and a loss of 60hp sounds about right for the trans and rear end.
The car runs fine.
So I guess when they were putting your engine together the guy decided to give you an extra 50HP?

Stock specification is 285 at the flywheel.

Underrated motors, my friend. Something is wrong.

pretty much stock LT1 pushing 292hp at the wheels?

what do you count as "pretty much" stock?

My car came with 315 stock. stock included and CAI through the hood, slp TOTL.

At the time of dyno, Im not sure if i was still running the hood intake or a stupid duck tape and dryer hose one lol, gutted cats and a lt4 KM and all free mods.

Trust me, car ran good.

After this i did hooker LTs and 1.6 RR and ran 12.9 @111mph

The 20% thing is also high for an m6 in my opinion.

Dyno jet BTW

Ok so you have an SS SLP Camaro.
I have a 97Z28.
Your car has a little more HP the me and it takes less HP to run through a 6speed.
I have an auto it takes more HP.
So I don't know what more to say on the mater.

mustang dyno or dynojet?

Sneakin Deacon
10-19-2005, 10:13 PM
even on a mustang dyno i made 249, loaded to 3350. dynojets i made from 255-265

and when i say i was stock, i mean i was TOTALLY stock, i had just bought the car.

285fwhp to 212rwhp...your talking like 30+% driveline loss...unless you have a 5500rpm stall, TH400, with 30"x15" slicks with 8psi and a 9" rear....your car is not running right.

JakeRobb

Can't you guys do math? That's 26% driveline loss.

I still think somthing's wrong with the car.

Sneakin Deacon

if you wanna get technical, its like 25.614%..sorry for not taking the time to bust out a calculator to tell him his car is not running right, again.

btw, these cars are underrated as said before, with the power most people make at the crank, he would be in the 30%+ range.

Well I'm believing that something is wrong with the car as well.

A4's due suck a bit more out of the HP, but not enough to justify your numbers.

You said 84,000 miles. Have you changed your spark plugs? Gone over your wires? Maybe the gas lines are clogged a bit, have you run any injector cleaner lately? How's the air Filter?

In my opinion something doesn't sound right. Very low numbers for a 97 Z28, even on a Mustang Dyno.

Let me know what the like is for your dyno once you scan it. Maybe that will help tell what is going on.

What Torque #'s did you put down?

New air filter I change my fuel filter once a year my spark plugs have probably like 15k on them double plat AC.
Wires are new replace them last year.
Stock GM's long storey.
I run a bottle of injector cleaner once a year and I also use a intake cleaner that goes into the engine through a I.V bottle. :thumb:
She may be bone stock but I do take good care of her.
Let me know.
Thanks,

where is your A/F graph? got any SES lights? car acting funny? what kind of gas mileage you gettin?

even the torque is WAY off. i would suggest if there is another dyno day soon at a different shop, you go to that other shop and if it gives similar results, begin to hunt down issues. there have been instances where i have seen dyno reading go 40-50rwhp off, but they are far and few between...but not unheard of.

No SES lights on.
I'm getting about 18MPG driving around town.
Car runs fine no problems at all.
No A/F graph I did not see a point in having it.
Well he did put in for 26inch tires witch is a little off maybe that's where some of the hp loose is?
I have a program that does the calculations and it comes out to a 25.6456692913386 for my 245/50/16's
Thanks,

26" is fine.

18mpg is normal. the A/F graph would have shown some issues though. there is a reason your making 50rwhp less than an average LT1.

also your curve is erratic, i would take a little mist bottle and at night pop your hood and let the car run, and just give a couple sprays on both side of the motor near the plugs...

Sure I will give it a shot but like I said it's got New GM wires on it 1 year old now but worth a shot.

If you aren't noticing a miss, the first thing I would do is a few ¼ mile runs. The trap speed will tell you if it jives with the dyno. ;)
