I did asearch and couldn't find what I was looking for. I was wondering if the black "high" temp paint on the Pacesetter L/T's is any good or not? Does it just burn off real quick, or is it a good high temp paint? If anybody has bought em and tried out their high temp paint, LMK, thanks.

no first hand knowledge, but for all the "paints" ive seen on other headers...they are pointless.
just pony up the cash for ceramic coated. it's well worth it.

From what I've heard, the paint comes off the Pacesetters real easy and before you know it, you have a pair of ugly rusty headers. I dont think you will regret having them ceramic coated.
I bought the painted ones. It burnt off within a minute or two of starting it up. Go with coated. I should have...

I bought the painted ones and on the headers there is a sticker that says that the paint is not a high temp paint and should be removed before installing. What i did was sandblasted the original paint off went to a local auto store and bought some 1500* paint or whatever is the highest degree engine/header paint. Spray on a few light coats and let them dry. If you can bake on the paint before install that would be better but if you cant a couple heat cycles when they are on your can will do it. Ive had them on my car for about a year now with no signs of rust. But if i could do it again i would probably pay a little extra and get the ceramic coated.

That is what I figured about the paint. I did the same thing as mentioned about with the header's I had on my GTO, and it worked well, I will probably end up getting Ceramic.
