Has anyone ever put a firebird front clip on there Camaro? Has anyone ever done this or seen this? I like the way the front end of a Trans am look but I want to keep the rear of the Camaro. I'd probably get a Trans am and try to get the parts from a Camaro to make the rear look like a Camaro. Pics or info please if this is possible?

Anything can be done with the right fabrication. If you have the tools needed, and both doner cars, I don't see why this wouldn't work. Not necessarily saying I'd like to see a Trans Maro or a Cambird, but to each his own.

not looking to fabricate but actually bolt on if possible. Im assuming its possible being it an F body. I'd like to gather up the parts and bring it to a body man without him having to fabricate much.

You can swap the body panels from the doors forward. Heck, you could even swap the doors.

You cannot swap the rears. The body panels in back are welded in place.

So that means you need a Camaro to start with ;)

Anyone not have a life and feel like photoshopping something up? :D

The Fire arrow. (firebird and camaro)
Yes I have thought of this and yes I came up with a cool name for it too. :D
It would be stupidly easy to build as well.

I've thought about putting the entire Trans Am body on my 94 Z since I love th 98+ Firebird but absolutely detest the interior....just don't have the heart to do it.

I have talked about how cool that would be too. I have seen a 4th gen with the camaro front end and firebird rear end. :barf: They got it backwards. No idea how they did it.

The rear is easy....bolt the spolier on, the filler panel, and screwin the tailights and rear bumper cover...tada, Firemaro

The cars are basically the same, the panels are just shape makers. Its like changing your clothes. You would need the brackets to mount the panels as they differ here and there because of shape obviously, but as far as will they bolt on......yes.Ive thought of doing this myself many a time, but I like the TA body wayyyyy too much to take either half away from it. I did create an '84/'86 Regal/Cutlass though a few years back. Called it the Smurfmobile. Started its life out a 3.8L 84 regal.....smashed up the front end....swapped the cutlass front end on. Smurf blue doors back.....gray front clip.....olds 350 engine(3.8 didnt last too long, out of a previously smashed up '77 cutlass) and eventually the turbo 350 trans after I blew a torrington bearing in the 200 metric getting stuck in snow and flooring it in manual low until I got unstuck, lol. The things you'll do when you have no money for a car.

how about the opposite? body lines don't match.........

That actually doesnt look bad, i kinda like it. Of course the body lines dont match up there,.....if they changed the doors out to the camaro doors it wouldnt look so far off because the rear of the doors more closely match the body lines than the fronts. Whichever front end you go with, you should have the doors also. As for the rear body lines, you may have to do some shaping to make it flow, but its possible.

I think that one could work and look pretty cool. I would say ditch the body mouldings on the door slap a ss hood on for starters or maybe a cowl hood. I think if someone actually had one infront of them to fool with the cambird could have really aggressive lines and look just plain mean.
