Federally Mandated Emissions Warranty?

It seems that GM has had some problems with their A.I.R. system for the past 10 years or so.. I know that I got recalls on both of my LT1 air pumps, and now my air system isn't working on my LS1.

My question is, does anyone know of a federally mandated emissions warranty for all domestic cars (or something to that effect)? Maybe 80,000 or 100,000 miles? I obviously don't want to pay the dealer for something as stupid as this and if they can do it for free I want them to.

Thanks in advance.

Pretty sure the federal emissions 8yr/80K warranty only covers the cats and the PCM. What code(s) you throwing?

Hey man, it's me from the LS1 section. The code is P0410 - Secondary Air Injection Reaction..

The reason I'm making such a big stink about this is because the government forced GM to recall virtually all air pumps (for the LT1's) that were manufactured because they were breaking prematurely. I don't see why LS1's would be any different.

I think I'll check up on the 1-800 number and see if I can find some answers.

The warranty booklet in the dash answered my question.

FYI, there are many parts of your car that are warrantied by GM for 7yr./70K miles and 8yr./80K miles, but secondary air injection accessories aren't one of them.
