I have done some resears and most poeple seem to be happy with upgrading to SilveStar 4666 composite lamps. Do we have any other options that just upgrading to a more expensive bulb? Seems like i remember a conversion kit that would allow you to use a conventional style bulb.

From the searching I have done on this site and others some say silver staer 4666's are decent, some hate them. I had 2 threads that said firebird composite lamps can be cut apart like camaro lamps and have 9006 bulbs put in. Anyone with any knowledge of this please post up, I have an all night car show in 2 days ;)

The low beams and high beams are just 9006 and 9005 bulbs in a housing...I took mine apart and swapped in some high power bulbs I like it a lot...my housings were the glass ones...some after markets are plastic I dunno if they would melt from the higher heat from the brighter bulb...

I went with some silverstars..I had a friend get them for me as he works for a parts retailer and gets a 30% discount on what they sell. I cant say im dissappointed, they were a large improvement over stock.

They made e-code headlamps (GM had them for cars going overseas) on pre-'97 Firebird/Trans Am cars. Nonsealed beam with removable bulb and strictor cut off with better reflective qualities.
