dak125 10-09-2005, 07:21 PM Hey fellas,
My apologies for the fact that my car's filthy, not to mention the wheels but I just had to share :D. I will post more pics tomorrow once the car's nice and clean .

A word to the wise. These wheels and those similar to them will not fit properly onto 93-97 F-body's without some grinding to an inner lip on the wheel. Unless of course the wheels were specifically from the 93-97's. I found that out the hard and LONG way. (Should have asked "PipesTA" a little earlier in the venture :p )
Let me know what you think.
GoFast908Z 10-09-2005, 08:17 PM why didn't it fit well? Thats unusual.
Drop the car 1.5" or so....Look VERY nice.
Good job

Thank you! I know it needs a drop, the gap kind of kills the whole look.
As to the fitting, where the wheel actually fits onto the axel there is small extra "flap" of metal on the wheel. Me being the jerk that I am just assumed all these style of wheels were the same. Anyways, I put them on and took it for a spin, a friend that was following me frantically waved me to the side of the road, the rears were wobbling. We went back to his shop and tried to take the rears off, just thinking they weren't seated well. To make a long story short we needed to use a forklift and a towing cable to take them off . The passenger side wheel took a good hour to get off. Once we ground that little loop of metal down they fit on perfectly, no more wobbling! ;)
dak125 10-10-2005, 04:39 PM I washed the car and wheels today and here's the result:

I may get the lip of the wheels chromed, I'm not sure yet. Thoughts?
2000GTP 10-10-2005, 04:43 PM They look great, really go well with the color of the car.

i think that looks pretty nice
dak125 10-10-2005, 08:19 PM Thanks for the compliments guys. I'm currently waiting to hear back from a local chroming/polishing place as to a quote to chrome the lip.

Wasnt the GS wheel lip polished? I think chroming just the lip might not look quite right.

It was my mistake, I meant polishing and said chrome. Yes, GS wheels normally have the polished lip, I guess mine are just "special" :D.
Joe 1320 10-10-2005, 09:41 PM looks good. It reminds me of the black fittipauldis I had on my Blue 94.
slayerxxx213 10-10-2005, 10:42 PM That looks really bada$$, great color combo...I love it ;) I hope when you say that your gettin' the lip polished that you mean your doing it like this: http://www.extreme-z.com/appearance/gallery/cwheels/IMG_0095 Looks sweet like that, anymore than that and it kills the look IMHO...BTW, where did you buy those from?...I've never seen the GS rims in all black like that, I've seen them with lips that were polished or chromed to some extent, but never in all black

Yup, just like that.
I got them from a local guy, I'm not sure where he got them from. I got an unreal deal on them too. Thanks Joe and Slayer.
flatlander757 10-11-2005, 06:59 PM I think some white GS style stripes would really set that car off!
I kinda like how it is now, as long as the lip doesn't get too shiney it should look good!

No stripes are going anywhere near my car :D
I contacted a local company about the lip polishing and they want $500 for all for . Forget that nonsense.
Thanks for the comment :metal:
pu12en12g 10-12-2005, 03:21 AM Nice car... not a fan of those wheels at all.

Predatorbird 10-14-2005, 03:17 PM your car looks very nice! i'm not a big fan of stripes, but maybe a couple different stripes COULD look nice... :) http://silviars13.free.fr/images/corvette/1996%20-%2002%20(Grand%20Sport).jpg
jrbluez 12-27-2006, 12:48 AM I was trying to view pictures, says website doesn't exist or something.
Injuneer 12-27-2006, 09:31 AM The original post with the photo link is 14 months old.... isn't unusual for links to go out of date in that period of time. He hasn't posted here for about 9 months, so who knows?
