i am looking at getting new tires guys.

i have 3 options that i am toying with

1. BFgoodrich comp t/a kdw (i am heavily leaning towards this one.......yall know why!!! :metal: )

2. Perrelli p7000 SS

3. Bridgestone Potenza Re750

ok, so the question is..........which tires lasts longer and which is a better all around tire?? I know what tirerack and other various vendors say, but what have yall experienced with them?

I know several people have gone with the comp t/a.....and how many miles were you able to get out of them? (curiosity)

ok and also...............WHAT is the BIGGEST tire size that will fit on a stock z28 wheel???? (i.e.-- can i put a 255/50/16 on it??? or is 245/50/16 the biggest i can go??) or if i can go even bigger than that SAFELY what is the biggest i can get?

sorry for so many Q's, but tires are one area that i lack a lot of knowledge in..........(thus the reason for so many questions...... :D )

THANKS GUYS!!!!!!! i really appreciate it

You can put a 255/50-16 on your stock wheels with no problems. It will throw the speedo off very slightly (will read 59mph at a true 60mph).

You can put a wider tire on the 8" wide stock wheel, based on the typical tire manufacturer's recommendations. Problem is, there are no true "high performance" tires available in larger sizes. The closest you could get would be something like a BFG Radial T/A 265/50-16. But now you have a "general performance" tire, and it will be 1" larger than the stock tire diameter, throwing the speedo off and raising the back end fo the car 1/2".

Going up to a 17" wheel will give you a LOT more options for better tires. Unfortunately, on a 16" rim, the stock 245/50R16 is about the best you can do.

I'm planning on going to 275/40R17 in the front and 315/35R17 in the back, someday. I hear that those sizes fit without any rubbing or anything, and they're very close to the stock tire circumference, which means your speedo should still be accurate. I like the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 tire. I don't know which rims I'll get yet... 315s are 12.4" wide...
