New to LT1s, Which tunning programs...

what tunner do u use and why, ups/ downs, etc. LT1EDIT/ TUNERCAT, are there any others? thnx for the help

Those are the two main ones. If you have ODBI definitely go with Tunercat. It's cheaper, not VIN locked, and more powerful.

Tuner cat OBD II is also available. I love tuner cat I can't compare it to LT1 Edit cause I have never used it.

Is tunercat now run in the windows or does it still have to be run in DOS mode?

I should clarify, when running the flshprog.exe file does that have to be in DOS or can that be in windows like LT1edit?

I have been using edit for 4 years so I have not kept up with tunercats revolution...

Yeah in their newest version you can read and flash in windows. I hated having to go back and forth from DOS to windows when I was diong a lot of test and tune.

Tunercat all the way though. They have awesome customer service and their product really works! I unfortunately have never used LT1 edit so no comment their except for what you already heard. They both do the same thing but tunercat gives it to you cheaper with free updates and no VIN lock which youll understand the PITA of if you ever fry a PCM.
