I used to do a lot of burnouts in my car and now my limited slip is working how it should. I'm not sure if the clutches can be replaced or if the whole unit has to be replaced. This car is going to see track use and drag radials but I don't have the money for an aftermarket rearend. What breaks oon the factory rear ends when they are put under stress like drag racing? I also plan on spraying with a 100 shot but not out of the hole. What do you guys suggest for someone on a budget like myself? I also forgot to mention that right now I have 2.73 gears and I bought the correct 3.73's for my carrier.

You probably have an Auburn if it's the factory carrier. They can't be rebuilt by the layman. Auburn does have a rebuild program, where you send them the carrier, and they will rebuild it for $105. It's called D-REX

Would it be possible that it needs more additive and that might fix it?

Ive only had the car for about 3 years but its been out of service for one of the years. So I've never changed it. I bought a gear kit from thunder racing with the rear end cover and gears for my 2 series carrier, and all the fluids and gaskets that I need. I guess I'm debating on if the eaton unit is worth it. And if it is I'd have to either try and return my gears or have someone machine them down to the correct size for the 3 series carrier.
