I dont know what the deal is but Ill replace it and within a few months it will drip again. The only thing I can think of is my DS is out of balance ruining the seal but I dunno. On the highway around 70-80 I get this horrible pulsating drone from under my car... does taht sound like DS to anybody else?

Do you have a poly tranny mount? My poly caused terrible droning above 70-75mph.

Try changing the mount first....I put an LS1 (same as 1LE) mount in mine, and I haven't managed to break it yet, even w/a 100 shot in 1st gear :)

check for a groove in the yoke, if there is a small groove you can use a sleeve kit from napa or car quest

if the rear is making some noise your pinion bearings are probly bad,

the seal can be installed without re-setting up the whole rear end if your carefull

the correct procedure for a new pinion seal involves removing the pinion, checking the bearings and using a new crush washer to set the pinion pre-load

I'd try getting a speedy sleeve Brad. It'll probably still leak though. Mine did it on the last 10 bolt i had.

I had the groove in the pinion yoke. GM has a kit that replaces yoke with new one and comes with an improved seal. It's about a $100. Worked great. I know DTS carries pinion yokes a little bit cheaper than GM but they had to order it and I was too impatient.
