I put Redline Synthetic in the tranny and rear end when I purchased the car almost 5 years ago. I'm right at the 20k mark on both fluids...is it time to change them, or are they still good for a little while? I never race it at the track, and other than some "spirited" runs down backroads every now and then, the car is babied.
Sorry for all the dumb maintenance questions this morning...the SLP CAI filter question is mine too :D Just wondering if I should do some things before winter hits and the car is put away...

i think you are alright with both. If you go by years... i think you could change them, but the mileage is WAAAAAY low to even think about it. Tranny fluid is like every 35-40k if that???
Rearend fluid is not changed very often at all. I think i changed mine out for the first time ever when i crossed over 50k (i doubt the previous owner did it because it was the original gasket)

Regardless of the mileage, I'd say with 5 years on the fluids it's definitely time for a change. I changed my rear end and trans fluid every 15k miles if I remember correctly.

wow... 15k??? geez. That is every year if you drive the car daily... id say that is overkill.

Mine is a daily driver and I flush the tranny every spring.

I think the dealer pushes 30K for both services. I usually change mine once a year though to play it safe, especially since the car sits alot, I dont know how much moisture accumulates in there.

As long as where on this topic what do you guys recommend for the fluids, like whats the best to put in, i rod the crap outta my car so i prolly need to change it, its been 22k miles since it was last changed and alittle over 2 1/2 years.

I like Mobil 1 gear lube for the rear end. Be sure and get some limited slip additive from the dealer, or it will make all kinds of chatter and act up when turning.
For automatic transmissions, I have had good luck with Maxxlife transmission fluid. Going from Mobil 1 ATF to Maxxlife ATF got rid of a slow 2-3 shift on my car.
