Hey guys,

Im new to the 4th gen crowd, been with the 3rd gen crowd now for almost 8 yrs. Anyway I just put a down payment on a '95 Z28 Convertible M6 that I think Im getting for a steal (3500.00). The car is in good condition bodywise, interior is pretty good (normal wear on leather). And engine doesnt have any abnormal noises (it has 112,000 Miles). It does have a slight shudder and lack of power up to about 1500rpm, then it just starts to scream with no shudder at all, I have found a plug wire that is arcing on the header and I think this may be the cause, but not 100% sure. The car has a few upgrades that I noticed of the bat (headers, short throw shifter). My question is this. Does this sound like a good deal? What else should I be looking for to be faulty on this particular car? Any help/imput would be appreciated. Thanks guys

William

Sounds like a good deal to me from the description, I have a 95 Z28 72K near perfect and I dont think I would take $10K for it. Flawless paint and interior.

It sounds like a good deal. As for the power problem, the arching plug wire can definitely be the cause. I would do a full tune-up and while installing new plug wires, do a good job of routing the wires away from the headers with cable ties or something.

Things that are unique to the convertible...
Check the top carefully... The thread at the seams dissintegrate with age allowing the seams to open up a little... Check for leaks around the windows especially where the top meets the windshield frame.

$3500 sounds like a good deal if it is mechanically sound.

Yea I agree it is a steal, My mom just got a '95 Convertible M6 with 78,000 on it in Feb and paid around $8,000-$9,000 for it, but it was also in perfect shape with all the regular matience done at the dealer and all documented, also it wasnt a daily driver and was garage kept.

Welcome to the other side....I too crossed over from 3rd to 4th gen....and I've never looked back! Sounds like a good deal to me as well, time to start fixing up what's wrong then start modding!

I can't wait to get this car and start modding, first up are sub frame connecters, plugs/wires, a real good tune up, also a new muffler this one doesnt quite have the sound I like!
