1994 Chevy Caprice 9c1 police package.
Car was originally Ohio Highway Patrol until 100k miles. Then Village of Pomeroy, OH until 130k miles.
I bought it in Feb of 2002. Selling because I bought a new Mazda6.
Mechanical
LT1 350 v8, stock internals and runs well
163K miles
New optispark and water pump
Long tube headers, new 2.5” dual exhaust with “turbo” mufflers, no cats.
I can install some cats if necessary for emissions if you buy the parts. It did pass ohio e-check before I put the exhaust on.
New o2 sensors.
The power steering cooler lines leak a little bit, have to top off every 3 months.
Trans is 4L60E, it’s a “heavy duty rebuild” per the last seller, but no paperwork to prove it.
Trans works perfect, shifts very firm, fliud was clean when I bought it so it’s about due for a change.
Differential was rebuilt about 15k ago, I kept the stock ring and pinon (3.08) and installed a Torsen T2 limited slip, which works great.
Tires are Pirelli Scorpion P-Zero 255 60R15 with 10k on them. They’re Z rated, but the car originally had slower tires so the speed limiter is at 130.
New fuel pump and filter about a year ago.
Front end chassis was completely rebuilt with moog parts about 1.5 years ago, all new hard parts and bushings.
Steering box is a little tired, so there is still some play in the steering. This may be able to be re-adjusted, but you need a special tool.
Brakes are good all around, new rotors, pads, calipers and wheel bearings up front, new pads in the back, new hoses all around.
Battery is 1 year old Duralast Gold, 1000cca, biggest that would fit.
A/C has a leak, will only hold charge for a few weeks. Most likely just an O-ring. The rest of the system works though.
New LT4 gear reduction starter 6 months ago.
Coolant temp gauge doesn’t work cause I broke the sender doing the header install. Easy fix, I just never got around to it.
Exterior
Car used to be grey, was repainted white. Not the best quality repaint. One small area of rust on the rear quarter, and some stone chips up front. One 3" area where the paint is flaking off.
Has the black steel police wheels with chrome hub caps (real hub caps, not wheel covers)
Has an Imapala SS grill, black color.
Has drivers side spotlight, works.
Has a siren installed with hidden switches. Not Legal in Ohio, check your state. Horn is wired to the “air horn” sound on the siren, really loud.
Has one hole on the roof, into which I installed a 800/1900 cell phone antenna. Not currently hooked up to anything.
Windshield has one crack in the center.
Interior
Black rubber floor mat with blue interior.
Seats were replaced with tan leather Bonnieville SSEI seats, 12-way power, 3 inflatable lumbar bladders, inflatable side bolsters. Best seats GM has ever made.
Control panel for the front seats is just laying between the seats, never got around to installing a console. Put in bonnieville back seat to match.
Both drivers doors are missing the padded part of the arm rest.
Airbag system not operational, steering wheel was replaced with one from an old caddy (previous owner)
Has a sony MP3 CD player, and an infinity 6.5” component set with tweeters on the dash up front. Stock speakers in the rear. One of the speaker connections is loose in the dash, easy fix.
Has the police “certified” digital speedo and blackout switch.
